We stayed one night in a motel room on our way from Death Valley to Manzanar National Historic Site which is 9 miles from Dow Villa. From the outside, the hotel/ motel looks like a 50s property but perfectly maintained. Inside, the rooms are 21st century and sparkling clean. We grabbed burgers next door at The Grill for supper. The... More

This place was great. Couldn't ask for a better view. Friendly staff. Clean & quaint. The commons showers on the first floor can lack water pressure and run cold if you get up late, but hey, that's quaint too.....

The Dow Villa is in a great location, especially for cyclist tackling Horseshoe Meadows or Whitney Portal road. The staff is super friendly, the rooms large, clean, great quality towels and hot showers. What more could you want after a day of riding. You can tell its family owned, they actually care about making your stay comfortable.

Probably our 5th or 6th visit - we enjoy the old fashioned service and hospitality. Older hotel but with really comfortable king beds, spotlessly clean, recently repainted. Still maintains some old world features like sinks in the bedroom, not bathroom! The lobby is the place to be to watch the world go by, join In a chat with the locals,... More

We stayed here after the beautiful but exhausting descent down from Mt Whitney. Soaked our tired bodies in the hot tub (after showering all the grime off) and then stumbled over to the BBQ joint across the street before collapsing in bed. Beds were ok, staff was friendly, pillows so so (I'm a down pillow freak), room was clean, bathrooms... More

More of a proper hotel, really; an actual lobby and lounge area, with rooms leading off from a corridor. The place is full of old cowboy-film memorabilia and is a great stop-off from which to venture off up into the mountains. No corporate blandness here, it's all quite homey and individual, and very cosy.

We booked a night at the Dow so we could relax before climbing Langley. The hotel is very pretty and has a nice lounge area. The room was clean and functional, no complaints. Parking is easy and the staff were very friendly.

Friendly check in, large room (had one on first floor), comfortable beds, very clean, reasonably quiet air conditioner (cooled it down enough I didn't need to run it at night) and a small pool that's open all the time. The lobby and parlor area has lots of western memorabilia to get you ready for the museum just down the street.... More

A surprisingly well appointed motel side with rooms decorated to a good quality, great pool and a good central location in town. We chose motel over the older hotel side as the motel rooms have private a/c, parking can get a little tight but plenty around the hotel. Shame they don't offer breakfast.
