Takinoya is a high-end ryokan with excellent service, attention to details and onsen baths. Stayed here for one night and will adjourn to bouro nou to experience the differences. Takinoya has both my thumbs up and i do not even want to leave this paradise.

Takinoya is located within a short walk from Hell Valley (don't let the name scare you...it's just where the steam comes up). This property is very high end and service is impeccable. Our room was a large suite with a separate seating area and balcony. We changed in to our onsen clothes, provided with the room and went to the...

I felt so lucky to have been able to make last minute reservations for a night in this place. Accomodation is rather pricey but worth every dollar. If you go to tour hell valley and town, make sure you're done by 1355hours because you do not want to waste any time not being in this lovely ryokan. Enjoying this place...

The Ryokan was recently beautifully renovated. We stayed in an old ryokan in the outskirts of Kyoto the year before and the room spelled of stale cigarette smoke and the bathroom facilities were terrible. Takinoya however is modern; we chose the beds vs tatami; the room was large and had ceiling to floor glass windows that offered a view of...

Even if you know your way around Japanese onsens, this one is really a stand out. A great combination of traditional hospitality with unique setting and some modern touches - like a fireplace library and a bar open for a drink with a view after dinner. A perfect escape from it all!

Be sure to explicitly ask for a non-smoking room, i.e. The customer(s) before you didn't smoke in the room. It's our 3rd visit, love everything about this hotel, environment, the onsen, the food, the service, everything. So we decided to again pay double to stay in one of their private onsen rooms which is very exclusive and private, you even...

The chef tried to create some western/Japanese fusion dishes. It was not bad but I preferred the chef sticking to all traditional Japanese meal. Jigokudani (Hell...

Luxury ryokan with 5 stars services. We received a good services since we arrived, until we left the hotel. Food was great both dinner and breakfast. 2 hot spring pool available, ground floor and top floor. Prices was very high but they prove that it worth the pay.

I had read the reviews regarding this Ryokan which was touted as the #1 Ryokan in Japan by Japanese nationals. So, I decided to splurge and enjoy our trip to Noboribetsu in a Western / Japanese room with a private outdoor Onsen. I was not disappointed. The grounds were beautifully maintained, the staff were friendly and accommodating with an English...

I was searching a great hot spring inn in Noboribetsu and finally found the one which we love very much. A moment we walked in the building, we liked the atmosphere very much. We stayed the room, CY, which has two beds, living area and tatami room along with bathroom, toilet and washing area. The room has the great view...
