Detailed Reviews
Nice bungalows, good size with all the amenities you probably need. Good AC, cool little pool in the center of the property and the restaurant area is very nice with a pool table.
Location is not ideal on foot so a motobike is recommended. Otres is the nicest and quietest beach by far. Staff could smile a bit more and the coffee was bad.

The resort itself was as expected, although it's a bit of a dust bowl all around it and there was a pole driver going next door for a few hours each day, luckily not too early.
If you have to stay in Sihanoukville then this is a good option and the walk to the beach is bareable. If you don't need to stay in Sihanoukville then don't, the beach is ok but there are scant options for food to enjoy a nice day along the beach, it's a bit of a weird baren ghost town area at this end of Otres beach.
The rooms were comfortable, and the pool a welcome relief for cooling off. The food at the restaurant was also great and serves in a lovely thatched roof area surrounded by garden. I did note they dropped there price a lot the day before so would be worth it for a last minute stay just to chill.

We had read the reviews about Sihanoukville up front, but we did not expect the mayhem it is. Avoid going to Sihnaoukville at all, it is hell on earth, totally destroyed by Chinese builders trying to create Las Vegas in Cambodia.
With that said, Sok Sabay is a nice hotel with friendly staff and nice bungalows. It's a bit hidden away from the worst of the construction sites, so you can find some peace.
If you REALLY need to go to this place, Sok Sabay is probably your best option.

20 minutes from anywhere and you will walk through Cambodian ghetto with wild dogs running around.
The owner is an incredibly cheap person that charges for every little thing, even water. The rooms are Mosquito filled and barely more than shacks. The beach is somewhat nice but the locals love to overcharge.

A nice oasis in a sea of “ugh”
Similarly to other reviews: Sihoukanville is a dump. Ugly, depressing, a bit scary - one of the least pleasant places I have been on travels. A shocking contract to everywhere else in Cambodia
If you can avoid spending any time at all in the city then I would highly reckoned that. Eg catch the overnight coach or something.
However, if you have to spend a night there (which many people do, waiting four a ferry or going to the airport then Sok Sabay is a pleasant place to do it.
It is a little enclave in most building does snd general “meh” but the bar/restaurant has nice ambience and very good food.
The staff are incredibly friendly snd helpful.
The bungalows are clean, well equipped and some of them back on to the river which was an unexpected nice piece of nature in a sea of concrete
I works love to go back to the islands: if so I shall try to avoid Sihoksnville city of possible. But if not possible this is a pleasant place to spend a night.

+1
Best hotel I stayed in Cambodia! I enjoyed 3 seperate times here as I went to 2 different islands then kept coming back because I loved it so much. The staff are so nice especially Sina one of the nicest guys I met in Cambodia! Always up for a chat and helped me with tuk tuks etc. Highly recommend this place, it's a hidden gem close enough to the beach, restaurants snd shops. Nice pool too and food!

After returning back from my holiday in Sihanoukville for almost one week. It is the time to review all my activities over there. First I could say I was really disappointed with this resort due to it was really offensive to the first impression of my trip in Sihanoukville. Now let’s me make more details, I have booked this resort for 2 rooms and one night ,but I have plan to extend a for a few day more if I feel good with this resort. * For a good point , the room and the environment around the resort was fine ,but
for the bad points it took me a few hours to wrote this reviews . Three weeks before I arrived here i had booked this hotel through Agoda, then I called to make a booking for pick up service with hotel staff who work in the morning shift because I wasn’t quite sure about the location . I thought that the hotel car is safe and convenient . On my arrival day I have sent an email to this resort to reconfirm about my pick up service in the morning due to I just one to make sure that the resort have arrange the transportation to pick me up on time . I have waited an email for a while, but no one responded ,so I have decided to call them again and reconfirmed my pick up service with Mr Rotha who is a hotel’s staff who work in the afternoon shift. At the same day I have got an email to reconfirm my pick up service from the hotel’s E-Mail ,so it made me feel more comfortable with confidence that the hotel have arrange the transportation to pick me up at the airport. I have arrived at Sihanoukville around 20:35 by plan . After I left from the gate of the airport I saw one man who looked like a driver was waiting me with a sign board and have my name on it , so I ask him You are my driver? He said “yes” , so he drove me and my friends to Sok Sabay resort . Upon arrival at the resort around 21:10PM. My friends and I just got off from the car and there is one man name Rotha who is a hotel staff came and ask me with a very rude word and anger face “ Your name Vireak??? “ I said “ yes “... and he asked me that “ Why you came here even though my driver waiting you at the airport “.... OMG , I was really surprised with how they treated the customer??? He don’t even invited us to take a seat because it already 21:10 o’clock at night. He talked to me loudly in front of many people who sitting over there and they looked at us like a stranger. I felt very embarrassed and disappointed... I have informed him that I came with your driver who carried out a sign board and have my name on it .., After that he went to checked with the driver who sent me here and asked for a sign board after talking for a while he came to me again and told me that I have made doubt booking for the pick up service. He claimed that he has received my booking last morning today one time and his friends who work in the morning shift have my second booking one more time since a few weeks ago . I tried to explain him with my word and showed him my email. I have mentioned that why you arrange two car to pick up the clients with the same name and same flight????!Without checking anything. He responded that his friends who work in the morning have got my booking ,yet they didn’t pass or even noted any messages in the system, so how can he known . Otherwise there are many clients with the same name , so how can he know that is me or others ... ...What???!?????? How could he respond with a stupid words , Is he a hotel staff??? How many rooms in your resort??? Didn’t you have a computer systems to verify or communication with your internal co-worker ???? I put my full name through my booking, so why didn’t you notice anything???? Before you arrange the transportation services??? ..,, You received only 01 booking 4people with 02 rooms why you arrange 02 car to pick up 08 clients with the same name and same fight ????? Is it really confusing???! The main reason is that he want me to pay double price on the transportation , so he tried to claim that he was right and it was my mistake.... oh, I couldn’t believe that He didn’t even know about how to make a communication with their colleagues. Otherwise he blamed the customer even though there was their mistakes. I couldn’t accept with the way that he deal with the customer. I tried to explained him with a reason agin . After that he gone out for a while and came back just said a fews words “ this was their mistake, so let’s go to your rooms” . I have explained him that I don’t want to blame anyone mistakes, I just want to make sure that if the customer was right or wrong you have no authority to treat the clients with a very rude behavior because sometimes it can offensive to the first impression of their holiday trip. For the check in process it already took me a round 25 minutes to wait with a stupid reason. The hotel management should train their staff a gain how to treat the clients with a good hospitality. For my experiences in this resort just got no value from the staff and nothing else besides making a Check out early in the morning.
For my recommendation, if anyone plan to stay in this resort and want to make a booking with any services , please make sure that you have booked with the Morning staff or Afternoon staff because sometimes it can be a mistake with their communication....

Situated in Otres River Village south of Sihanoukville’s centre and about a half kilometre inland from Otres Beach 2, Dok Sabay Resort is a good place to relax. Accommodating guests in individual chalets, there is a swimming pool and access to a bar and restaurant within the complex. Dok Sabay Resort is a serene place to chill out. It needs to be a pleasant place to chill out, and fortunately it is. Sihanoukville and its beach fronts are developing very fast, mostly it seems with multiple high rise hotels and their accompanying gaudy casinos. Sihanoukville’s famed beaches may have once justified their imminence amongst tourist destinations. With the exception of Otres Beach 2 (the closest to Dok Sabay Resort) and only parts of Otres Beach 1, the others I walked on - Serendipity Beach, Ochheuteal Beach, Victory Beach and Independence Beach – are seriously littered with garbage and dwarfed by Sihanoukville’s massive over development where the accompanying infrastructure is profoundly inadequate. Sihanoukville’s streets are of variable quality, from abysmal to mediocre. That said, I enjoyed my four night stay at Dok Sabay Resort (2-5 July 2019). Staff members were hospitable and helpful. My chalet was spotless and serviced daily. The restaurant had an extensive menu.

The title tells all... very quaint, nice hotel with small pool, decent rooms, hot water, air conditioning, comfortable beds, shower very slow to drain, and restaurant/bar.
If this was located on the narrow, white sand beach (full of debris... very sad)... it might be worth it. The area surrounding the hotel literally looks as though it is in the middle of a warzone. Many giant, muddy craters on every road within miles, full of trash and debris. It was slum like... too bad, because the hotel was kinda nice... I would never return to Otres 1 beach. It was depressing to see the damage and careless over construction by the Chinese (building mega structure resorts everywhere near Snookyville).
The food and drink (although overpriced compared to local places) was fabulous!

We made the mistake to go to Sihanoukville but were lucky to have booked into this oasis in the middle of Chinese construction work, tons of rubbish and dead rats on the streets. Sok Sabay has lovely decorated rooms, indididual balconies looking at the nice garden and pool and the food in the spacious open-air restaurant. We rented a moto from the hotel and this was a good way of exploring the surroundings
