The motel is run down and dirty. There were beer bottles and trash dumped in different planter areas on the property. The rooms were awful. The beds were uncomfortable, bedding was hideous, T.V. Remote was broken, and the bathroom toilette seat looked like it had been used one to many times. The only thing nice about the place is the...

My wife and I recently had the distinctly unpleasant experience of spending three nights at the McCambridge Lodge in Kernville, California. We were in Kernville to attend a festival which resulted in the complete occupancy of the town’s total complement of fairly modest motel accommodations. Knowing that rooms would be tight, we booked our room via telephone months in advance...

***BEWARE***these people are unprofessional, the property is rundown, and the rooms are disgusting. i'll save you the drama, but i was forced to call kernville sherriff dept. to deal with the owner and her entire family that lives at the "lodge". drive another 300 yards down the road to whispering pines. save yourself the HUGE headache from dealing with Mccambridge.

My wife and I spent two nights at the McCambridge Lodge. The location of the place to eateries, grocery store and that sort of thing plus down town is great. The lodge itself could use a little TLC here and there. The room we had was clean. It had cable TV, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, working AC, and a nice...

We stayed at McCambridge's for a romantic weekend getaway. Althea recommended room 11, which has a private balcony. It was clean, cozy, private and very romantic. We stayed on the balcony overlooking the river and trees most of the time. I wished we'd had an extra night! We loved sleeping to the sound of the river and the crickets. Waking...

This is my third time visiting Kernville but the first (defenently not last!) time staying at the McCambridge lodge. The rooms were nice and cozy with a great view of the river. Top knotch service as well when, the manager himself booked me rafting trip.

I am shocked that anyone would have a negative opinion of this lodge! Since my family and I live in the city, a trip to Kernville was just what we needed for a summer vacation. The quaint lodge was everything that I could hope for!! Not only was the beautiful view breathtaking, but the rooms were pleasant and relaxing (just...

I recently stayed at the McCambridge Lodge Motel and I was truely pleased with my stay. I have made Kernville, Ca a regular vacation spot for the last three years and I have never been let down by the quality of service provided by the management. The McCambridge Lodge has the best view of the river out of all the...

I took my wife and children for a getaway, over the weekend, to Kernville. We stayed at the McCambridge Lodge after a suggestion from a friend. Upon arrival, Althea was very nice and showed us to our room. The room opened up to a beautiful view overlooking the Kern River. My family enjoyed the weekend; although the water was cold,...

We made reservations a week in advance for one night at the Maples McCambridge Lodge, a 10 room motel in Kernville. The proprietor even called back to confirm. When we arrived in town, with our two grandchildren and a car full of luggage, we called the motel for directions. To our surprise, and anger, we were informed they must have...
