Nice campground with a mountain river flowing by. Had a one-night stop here on a roadtrip after driving from Ragged Point. Opted to stay here instaed of a primative campground, mainly because of facilities and walking distance to the pub. Weather is nicer in the mountains than on the flats in the lower reaches of Kern Co. Maybe a little...

We have been going camping along the beautiful Kern river for the past few years now and have been able to set camp so close to the river without staying at a camp ground. Stayed in campsite #3 June 20th-22nd. Great campground and very clean with clean bathrooms. Has running water faucets which was very convenient. Peter the host was very friendly and helpful. Not too much shade in most of the sites so bring an easy-up. Walked all around the campground and the best sites are 15,16,17,21,22,23... these sites are along the water...

which we did, and had a great time. Most sites have very little shade, but the scenery and the sound of the running water made up for that. The sites by the river have fairly good size. Comparing to other campgrounds near Kernville, this is probably the best.

This is rather a late review from out April 2013 camping trip. We have been camping here for 3 years now and counting. Some sites have trees...shade. We have been staying at site 43. It has great shade & perfect site if you own a hammock. This site can fit at least 3 3-person tent. The campground has clean bathroom,...

This site is about 20-30minutres North of the Lake. We stayed @ space #38 which was quite big for two tents. We did not reserve this place it was a drive by. (Reservation during summer time is highly recommended!) The site was very clean. The bathrooms are kept cleaner then most public spots. At the time of going the River...

This is a nice campground located about 30 minutes north of Lake Isabella and 30 minutes south of the "Trail of 100 Giants". We reserved space #2 which was quite private and fit two tents - one large family tent and a smaller 2-person tent. Other sites are not as private and there are a lot of large rocks so...
