Being only an hour away, my wife and I took a quick overnight trip to Jamestown. We love the National Hotel as their bar, food and rooms are exceptional. At half the price, the overall quality exceeds many coastal hotels and B&B! The rooms are small, but very well done. This is a quality place, yet it gives you a...

This is our favorite getaway location. Great place to staff. Great staff will always take good care of you, and the restaurant is excellent. Great location with many fun activities within a short drive.

My husband and I were on a road trip returning home from attending our son's wedding. We were planning a one day visit to the railroad museum in Jamestown and then driving through Yosemite. We stopped to have lunch at the National Hotel and knew we had to stay there for the night. We enjoyed the ambience of the hotel,...

We spent one night of our honeymoon at the National and can't say enough good things about it! Michael greeted up when we came in that night and he couldn't have been nicer. He talked about the history of the area and hotel. The room was great. Sleeping in an old fashioned brass bed was like stepping back in time...

Yep! Just like them good ol' good-good, rip-roaring' confound and tarnation days of 49er legend, by gumption! Its the rootinest-tootinest place to lay your head this side of the Pecos River, dad gummit! ;- ) Really though-Its a very nice place; we liked the double shower especially, found it to be very authentic, and there were extremely nice people working...

I visited Yosemite and stayed in a motel in Jamestown which was basic but OK. This place however was the best, the clams and food I've had in the US so far - friendly bar staff and there draft beers are from a micro brewery nearby - very good and worth a visit if in Jamestown

This is not the first time we have stayed but we're finally able to try a different room....one with a lovely large bathroom! The room was clean and quiet. Always enjoy sitting out on the upstairs balcony. Breakfast was good...nothing spectacular. Dinner was outstanding!

Thank you so much for taking time to write about your experience here at The National. We always enjoy hearing from our repeat customers and are glad that you gave yourself the treat of a private bath, too. Don't tell anyone but the balcony is our favorite spot to spend time as well! Hope to see you back here again...

All the hotels in this pretty village look nice but this is a true gem.Plenty of character. Everything is as it was in the past but it works perfectly and it is very comfortable. Lovely bathroom with double showers. Good and tasty breakfast too. I would put a kettle in the room. extremely kind owner, what a lovely lady!

We're not sure which kind lady you may have met because we have a lot of them here... including Flo! Our owner, Stephen, is thrilled that one of the employees treated you like royalty. Thank you for staying with us while you were traveling through the States and for posting your kind review.

This hotel felt like home and the last thing I wanted to do was leave. The staff was great, the room was cozy, and the food was amazing. I'm counting the days till I can return. Not to mention it's in the heart of a very charming town.

If history is your game, this hotel is for you. Everything about the experience was great, from being shown to our nicely appointed "period" room to learning about the ghost, "Flo," reportedly still hovering - we think we might have heard her. The restaurant is fabulous - seldom found offerings like escargot, cherries jubilee and bananas Foster are on the...
