What a phenomenal place for laid-back family vacationing! Comfy family-friendly cottages (we had a king bed in one room, 2 twins in the other -- virtually every family wants this combo but you can't get it in hotels!) make it so easy to relax and get good sleep while you're there. Plus there are nice decks, several charcoal grills to...

Clean, quiet, and cozy cottages! My wife and I were visiting Point Reyes and spent the evening here, however, we could have easily spent a week here and were very sad to leave so soon. The cottages were well equipped with kitchenettes, spacious bathrooms, comfortable beds, free wifi, a gas fireplace, and TV (should you bother to need it). The...

We stayed in a family suite here. Furniture was practical/functional , not luxurious (creaky spring in the mattress, no big screen tv or iPod radio/alarm). It felt more like a converted 1 bedroom unit where the master bedroom and a daybed have been placed in what would have been a living room. This room has many windows located right beneath...

We stayed in room no. 9. Though it was next to parking lot, we did not experience any disturbance. We experienced complete privacy. Even though the occupancy was practically 100% on Friday night, the experience was of being part of a family and private. The stay gave a feeling of being amid the woods because of the spread out property....

We were looking to book a dog-friendly room but were told they were all booked (they only have a few that are dog friendly). We found a nearby dog sitting place (Google Stay & Play Overnight Dog) and left the dogs with them. The setting is idyllic. It is absolutely fantastic for what it is; A refuge away from the...

Very clean rooms, relatively convenient location (love local organic stores, 35 minutes drive to Stinson Beach). Large batch and small (yet useful) kitchen, one improvement would be larger refrigerator (small fridge is a joke for a family).

I chose the cottages primarily because they were dog friendly and they are. I had Room #1 which does not have a kitchen but a refrigerator and microwave, which was enough for me. The place is made up of A-frame houses split into "cottages" there are no actual private cottages. Mine was the first on the road so there was...

This stay was one of the most relaxing getaways I've had in a long time. The property is gorgeous and so are the cottages. It's also one of the cleanest places I've stayed. Every morning I sat on the porch to eat breakfast and enjoy the beauty of my surroundings. The owners were very nice, down to earth people and...

This place is NOT recommended for families nor for business people looking for a calm place. This place does not inspire confidence, ruined aspects, lack of maintenance and cleanliness in its environment. Sorry.

Andrew H, Owner at Cottages at Point Reyes Seashore, responded to this review

Normally the recommended response to negative reviews is for property owners to be apologetic, not this time. These people booked for 4 nights. Within 10 minutes of their arrival they sent an email litany of complaints, ranging from the porch needing swept, to the lock on the swimming pool gate not locking automatically. Reading the instructions would have answered this...

We originally thought that we would like to stay in a hotel on Tomales Bay, but decided to take a chance on staying slightly off the water. We loved our stay here, even though it was brief. The grounds are gorgeous and it is so quiet. The room had everything that we needed including a little deck to sit out...
