We have been to Idyllwild several time and tried a new spot, Strawberry Creek Inn. I emailed Rodney several time and appreciated his response each time. We stayed in the Evergreen Room, nice and comfortable. You definitely felt like being in the mountains. Both breakfasts were very good. The lodge is old and could use some cleaning up. The innkeepers...

Since May 2013, when I come to Idyllwild, a small mountain town located on San Jacinto Mountains of California, I stay in this unique, special, small B&B, run by the lovely owners, Ian&Rodney. It may be because it looks like one of the houses in my childhood fairytale stories, I love to stay here. If you google it you will...

My husband and I came for the weekend and enjoyed the chance to get away together. The Inn was comfortable and cozy, located on the edge of the small artsy town of Idyllwild. We liked the hammocks, the chicken coop on the property, and the path along the stream that led into town. The main house is open 24/7 and...

Disappointed with the lack of enthusiasm from the owners. We felt like a number, not a guest. I would rather give my money to someone who appreciates it and is warm and welcoming. Place needs a good cleaning outside, quite unkept with lots of spider webs everywhere and dust on everything, overgrown weeds. It's like they just don't care anymore...

Stayed here for two nights with my mother, it was divine! The two owners are very nice and accomodating hosts and their guesthouse is simply gorgeous! We felt right at home here, the decor is just beautiful, many different art pieces from different cultures and nations. We had the Evergreen room and it was a nice size room with a...

and got the reservation (special discount) for a birthday present. The facility is large for a bed and breakfast with a big common area packed with curios, antiques and knick-nacks and a library area. It was fun to look at the fancy chickens out back and eat their fresh eggs. Our stay was comfortable and quiet. The breakfast was very...

Idyllwild is a beautiful little town nestled in the San Jacinto Mountain Range. Wonderful small artist's colony. A place for active folks of all ages. Excellent hiking. We decided to travel here to escape LA and the daily craziness. We chose the Strawberry Creek Inn due to the reports of the wonderful breakfasts and its proximity to Strawberry Creek and...

Here are the good points: lovely old house, fine furnishings, very clean, friendly & social people, comfy bed, great location in town, easy parking. The flipside: tiny shower, creaky floors, you get to hear all your neighbor's business through thin walls (yep, uh oh!), just OK breakfast, no A/C, and the world's tiniest TV. In some countries this would be...

My husband and I live a fast-paced life and my husband, in particular, works 70+ hours a week so getting "away" is a necessity for us. We went to the Strawberry Creek Inn for a weekday get-a-way and fell in absolute love with Strawberry Creek Inn!! I loved the location, I loved the people, I loved the town. The hammocks...

Would probably try another place next time (if we ever go back to Idyllwild). Place is nice, Santa Fe room was small but pleasant, although you might want to bring your own pillows if you are used to soft & fluffy under your head at night. Bed was also hard and if that was a "queen", then I'm Queen Latifah!...
