We decided to escape to Idyllwild so our dog wouldn't freak out due to fireworks in our neighborhood. Great call!! Nice cozy place, a bit rustic but the new owner Raj is working his tail off to improve this place. I highly recommend spending a...More
1. Services are bad. The staff or owner very very not nice.
2. The hotel old, small, dirty and smell.
3. Shower and most of the lights in room are not working.
Never go back to this place and not recommend to anyone.
Very relaxing atmosphere. Nice get away. There are two individual cabin style rooms. We stayed in the bigger of the two. Enjoyed the wrap around balcony. Great location. Close to town. Raj and his wife were super nice and helpful. They met all of our...More
Really low price actually made us think it might not be that great; but the proximity to the town centre, plus a great 4x4 driving trail and challenging Suicide Rock hiking trail sold us, and we booked it anyway.

Very relaxing setting, received personal attention from the owners. Under new ownership, and they are committed to improving further. I plan to stay in the Bunkhouse again next summer. Nice back porch views, and friendly stack basket brought to the room daily.

First of all, I do not recommend this hotel... There are others in the area for the same price, or even lower, that are WAY better maintained and managed and you will thank me later. See my review of Strawberry Creek Bunkhouse and Stone Creek Lodge, which I highly recommend.
That being said, the kitchenette is basically as follows: a sink, microwave, mini fridge, coffee machine, electric tea kettle, glasses, mugs, silverware, some plates and bowls. If you ask, they have pots and pans and a hot plate available at the front desk. I would not recommend any serious cooking here (maybe reheating last nights leftovers would be totally feasible:). If you are looking for a place to cook, I would again recommend the Stone Creek Lodge, they have a communal fully equipped dream kitchen!! Seriously, I am a chef, and this kitchen was gorgeous!!!
Have fun, Idyllwild is a blast, but choose your stay at your own risk:)
