We needed to be within walking distance of the center off Healdsburg without breaking the bank. We had modest expectations and knew about some of the quirks of the place (namely very thin walls!!), so we arrived with eyes wide open.

The front desk staff was nice and helpful. The room was standard- nice size, comfortable bed, functioning bathroom. Only in wine country would a hotel room normally worth about $75 cost $200, but again, we knew how expensive the comparable places were.

So, for 2 nights, it was certainly fine and we spent little time in the rom other than sleeping and showering. My guess is if we weren't restricted to walking, that other options a few miles away would have been a better value proposition.

No raving, nor no complaints!

The desk clerk at this motel was very pleasant and extremely helpful! The rooms were comfortable and clean. There was no towel rack by the sink, which would have been nice. There was not chain on the door to enable securely opening the door partway One of the rooms had a microwave but no refrigerator, so our friend in that room did not bring her leftovers back to the motel. Apparently they are working on the motel, and these things will be remedied

I was very pleasantly surprised by this motel. It is not fancy, but it is very clean with adequate provisions, all at a very reasonable price. Most other places in the town have a price tag that is much, much higher. Perhaps they offer more luxury, but if you are coming to drink the wine, and find good food in the town, then this place truly provides a comfortable spot to sleep. The location makes it very walkable to the town. I would not hesitate to recommend it and would gladly stay here again in the future.

stayed in the king suite a couple of nights ago and couldn't be happier. it was clean spacious, no carpet which is preferred . the bedroom has good lighting, ceiling and each nightstand.. there is a wetbar , fridge, microwave and keurig coffee machine. during these take out only times, a microwave is a must. the bedroom is separated from the sitting area and 2 TVs. price? 130 plus tax per night AAA rate.

This is a MOTEL - not an "Inn". Upstairs room (no elevator) so had to lug our bags up a narrow staircase.

The walls were so thin, it was like the people in the next room were sitting in ours. So basically the feeling of no privacy. Water fixtures loose and wobbly.

Was there for our wedding anniversary, and this place definitely reduced the happiness of the weekend.

Just stay away!!!!

Very affordable option in Healdsburg. Very clean updated property. Great walk to town location. I would stay here again. Bed was very comfortable. Most excellent Quail and Condor Bakery is just around the corner. Small pool and hot tub looked inviting.

This property was under construction. Reservations were made 3 mos in advance and we were told it was newly renovated. We had a group of motorcycle riders booked..we arrived, no pavement, dirt and gravel, most of it was under const., wood, no doors, dumpsters. We had a small strip of the original rooms..about 7 rooms while they renovated the rest. The so called office was small, dingy, stunk of very strong curry, no pamplets, no continental breakfast as stated. Brought bathing suits...the original website showed a wonderful place with pool. The pool was cement only, no water! With tax we were charged $120 ea room. Of course no other hotels in the area had vacancies and we had a bus coming in the AM for a wine tour. The man who ran the place would not come down in the price for misrepresenting his hotel, and then said we were told it was under contruction---NOT! I had opened lotion and shampoo with the old hotel name on it. I would not go to this place even after the renovation is complete!!

My friend and I rented a room for two nights this past Friday. I chose this place because of the proximity to Healdsburg Plaza, we could walk back to our room, and because it was less pricey than other properties in the immediate vicinity.
We checked in, the room was sufficient; we left to go wine tasting. I am crazy about making sure my door is closed when I leave a hotel room, asked my friend to check the door, we were good to go.
When we came back to our room two hours later, the door was slightly ajar and our belongings had been gone through, nothing had been taken. My friend called the manager to inform him someone had been in our room and was summarily dismissed. He actually told her that it did not happen, and was offended she suggested such a thing had occurred.
Day two--we leave again to go wine tasting. Upon our return, were happy to see housekeeping had visited, but my small bag with three pairs of $50 earrings was gone. I have travelled a lot, sometimes to places that were kind of shady, and never been ripped off. Don't stay here.

Response from abvishealdsburg, General Manager at Fairview Inn And Suites
Responded 15 Jun 2013
Dear Guest, We feel extremely terrible that something like this has happened to you while staying at our property. I can honestly tell you that in our 22+ years of owning and operating this business, we have never had something like this happen at our property. Our property is designed such that there is no through traffic for either pedestrians or cars which means other than guests, no one actually comes onto the property to cut through between streets for a shortcut. All traffic comes onto the property and leaves only thru the entrance and exit by the front office on Healdsburg Avenue. This is one of the main features that actually makes our property safe compared to other properties with open parking lots with multiple entrances and exits. And like all other properties in town, we don't have an onsite security guard and haven't had a need thus far. I can also tell you that our housekeeping staff has also been with us for many years and have in fact turned in many valuable items left behind by our guests which we gladly mail back. Theft of guest items is an extremely serious issue and with our reputation on the line, we would not tolerate this behavior from any of our employees. I can't tell you exactly what happened in this situation but we do feel extremely terrible about it and will continue to look at all ways to keep our property safe for all our guests. Sincerely, General Manager

This hotel has a few good things going for it. First, they take single night reservations on the weekend, when every other property in the area requires a two night minimum. Second, it was just renovated, so the property is basically new. And, it's pretty inexpensive considering the location.

On the negative side, the owners also seem to be new to this hotel, and to hotel management in general. After botching our reservation, since they appeared to have no knowledge or understanding of the internets (reservations are made by a mysterious system apparently!), which really put a damper on our afternoon, they had to reshuffle some rooms and asked us if a room with no lock would be acceptable. What!! No, we would like our room to lock.

Finally, they have that terrible type of air conditioner that cycles on and off, loudly, with clicking, throughout the night. So, if you are noise sensitive definitely bring your ear plugs.

America's Best Value Inn could be mistaken for any number of other chain hotels - it had a comfortable room and cozy accommodations, and at the time of stay was absolutely brand new. The smell of fresh carpet and paint hung in the air, and the plastic wraps still clung to the lampshades. All in all, as a room it was a decent value for the area, but was located a good mile from downtown Healdsburg. The continental breakfast was also disappointing - water flavored coffee and flacid waffles.

My major issues with the hotel were with the management and the check-in process. Even though I had purchased (and been charged to my credit card) two rooms from Orbitz, they only had 1 room down, and even still, insisted they had not been paid by Orbitz. They actually didn't even know what Orbitz was, even though somebody over there must have setup the system. The manager actually made me speak to her husband over the phone, re-explaining the situation for which I had already been dealing with for a half an hour.

All in all, it could have been handled much more professionally since I clearly don't have intimate knowledge of their billing system, and shouldn't be made to deal with it when they don't understand it themselves. Another customer who booked through Expedia encountered the same issue as I was leaving the lobby. Not cool.
