The River Belle Inn provides a one of a kind experience in the heart of Healdsburg Historic Wine District. Located ideally on the Russian River and just six easy walking blocks away from the charming Healdsburg Plaza, it provides the perfect place for a relaxing getaway. The luxurious suites, charming common rooms, and amazing farm to table breakfasts are just a few of the benefits you'll enjoy while staying here.
Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
We decided to visit wine country at the last minute. I really love staying in great hotels so I spent a bit of time online researching them, reading reviews, looking at poctures. When I saw the picture of The River Belle Inn, right away I was interested. It is so pretty. It is located right on the Russian River. The serene views are just lovely from the room or the adirondack chairs around the property or the hammock. The bad part is there is little incentive to leave and do anything. If however you want to do something, the cute town pf Healdsburg is a 10 minute walk. Lots of good restaurants, boutique stores and tasting rooms. They are all very strict about distancing and sanitizing (as is the Inn). The owner, Tom, referred us to some great wineries that we had never visited and they were all just gorgeous. The breakfast at the Inn is delicious with an amazing array of choices. The chocolate croissant is worth the splurge and the fresh o.j. Is amazing. You can pick any time to have breakfast and we would have our coffee delivered to our roomat 7, go for a walk and come back for breakfast around 9:30. Perfect! There is a nice happy hour (ended up being two hours) on the riverfront patio where the owners Tom and Mitzi spent a bit of time with us. The hotel inside is decorated beautifully and the beds are extremely comfortable. We will definitely put this at the top of our list! Oh, whoops, can’t forget to mention the beautiful and patient (always waiting for a little morsel of food to come her way) lab, Mia. She is the official greeter and does a great job!

My husband and I stayed here for a relaxing weekend before visiting our grandson in California. The River Belle Inn surpassed our expectations and we hated to leave. It's a lovely inn with a great view of the Russian River, yet you can easily walk to all the restaurants in downtown Healdsburg. Mitzi and Tom were gracious and welcoming hosts who gave us very helpful tips on wineries, restaurants and Sonoma directions. Their dog Mia was sweet and gentle and made the place very homey. Our room (Alexander Valley ) was spotless, spacious, well appointed and very comfortable with a gas fireplace, large bathroom, big shower and soaking tub. There was a large closet with lots of hangars, great lighting in the rooms, and plenty of towels in the bathroom. We especially appreciated the early morning coffee brought to our door in the morning and loved the breakfasts which we ate on the back patio facing the river. The happy hours featured wine pours from small, local wineries and snacks ( pizzas, charcuterie plate) and gave us an opportunity to chat with other guests. Overall the River Belle Inn was a wonderful experience and we highly recommend it. We hope to return and stay for a longer time.

River Belle Inn is everything you want for R&R: beautiful surroundings (on the Russian RIver), comfortable rooms with amenities you didn't know you wanted but really need (bedside charger outlets, individual room temperature controls that really work, enough hangers in the closets), great location (walk to the downtown plaza of Healdsburg), kind and welcoming hosts. We planned to stay 2 nights and immediately extended to a 3rd night. Right decision. Breakfast was superb and COVID friendly: choose from a menu of wonderful food, delivered when you want to a location you specify on the hotel's grounds. Our friends who live in town joined us for the nightly wine tasting from the best local vineyards. Thank you, Tom and Mitzi and Mia!!

Fabulous property. Extremely clean and well maintained. The pictures are very representative of the rooms (and we saw all of the rooms). They actually look even better in person. The proprietors are very friendly and knowledgeable of the surrounding wineries and local restaurants. Breakfast is to die for, and the view of the river is spectacular. Oh, and don't forget the Queen of the Belle, their sweet lab Mia. We will be back!

We enjoyed our stay in the Blue Heron Suite and from our patio we spotted a great blue heron on the Russian River. The tasty breakfast had a good variety of options and could be enjoyed in our choice of settings. Afternoon happy hour wine tastings by local vintners made our stay extra fun. The hosts, Thomas, Mitzi, and Mia have created a wonderful setting to enjoy Sonoma, with thoughtful design details throughout the inn and grounds.

Everything about the River Belle Inn is wonderful. Thomas and Mitzi's hospitality is top notch. And, of course, there is Mia...a beautiful social "puppy" that welcomes everyone.
The breakfasts are delicious and have plenty of options (even for us vegetarians!). You pick your breakfast options the night before and where and when you want your breakfast and when you arrive there is a table made up with your room name on it and "magically" your breakfast arrives. You can also have "morning coffee" delivered to your door between 7-7:30am.
The not to miss part of your stay is the Happiest Hour. We enjoyed wine, beer and iced tea while watching pizzas being made in the new pizza oven, then of course sampling many of different pizza combos that were made.
We spent 2 nights in the Chalk Hill Suite. Great room with sitting area and fireplace on the 2nd floor (there is an elevator), no river view but we knew that when booking. Honestly, the property is so big with so many hang out options; lounge chairs overlooking the river, large porch with lots of seats (some rockers and a glider), indoor music room and bar area with large screen tv and windows all around. There was also a bocce court...nice! You could spend the whole day just hanging out at the RBI or you can take an easy walk (just over 1/2 mile) to downtown Healdsburg.
You really do want to stay longer than we did so you can enjoy all that RBI, Healdsburg and Sonoma have to offer! We are looking forward to visiting RBI again!

This is our second visit to the River Belle and it will not be our last when staying in Healdsburg. First of all, our hosts Tom and Mitzy are just amazing, wonderful, warm and inviting people. They make you feel like you are family when staying with them. (Mia their lab also makes you feel welcome). They are so knowledgeable about Healdsburg and wine country and can guide you anywhere and suggest numerous restaurants and things to do. The Inn is incredibly decorated in beautiful furnishings and is highly maintained inside and out. Each one of their rooms is different and it makes it quite hard to select which one to stay in. The breakfasts are to die for and happy hour is quite happy as you nosh on homemade pizzas, fabulous charcuterie boards and sip on delicious wines and beer. It is located in a peaceful setting on the Russian River so if you need to take a break from wine tasting you will have a perfect front porch to sit on or a delightful backyard to day dream in. What more can I say! Trust me, you will not be disappointed.

We have stayed at River Belle several times, and believe me, we will continue. Bottom line: It is the best there is in every aspect. From the time you arrive one senses it is something special. This is a family affair, & they work beautifully together. One can tell they love & enjoy each other and love what they do. Each time we have stayed in a room, my husband has said, "Oh, this is my favorite!" This last time, he said, "Oh, this definitely is my favorite!" In fact, they all will be your favorites. There is not a thing they haven't thought of you would need or want for clear relaxation and comfort. We have never had a more personalized stay anywhere. The breakfast & afternoon wine & appetizers are delicious and varied and the grounds and venues to eat or relax are simply amazing and beautifully appointed. Tom, Mitzi and Kathy, thank you for your warm, gracious hospitality and your commitment to not only excellence, but an assurance it will be a happy, fun stay! We love you and love it here! My girlfriend and I stayed at the River Belle Inn in Healdsburg while on a Sonoma County wine trip. The accommodations were top notch and included daily made-to-order breakfast, a nightly happy hour with complimentary wine tastings, and a daily room clean. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and very service focused. The location of the Inn was perfect, within a very short walk to downtown Healdsburg which had plenty of dining, shopping and tasting options. I highly recommend a stay here and will definitely come back on our next trip to wine country.

We made a last minute reservation here opting to go with a BnB instead of a large resort (which is a more typical option for us). The house is beautiful. The location is amazing, right on the river and a 15 minute walk to the town plaza. Tom and Mitzi are super accommodating, sending restaurant and winery recommendations in advance of the stay. The morning breakfast is awesome and available to be enjoyed in various locations through out the property. They also host a daily happy hour with beer and wine plus some very thoughtful snacks. The river patio and wrap-around porch are great for lounging, drinking and playing some board games. The house dog, Mia, is super chill and adorable. Can't say enough good things. Will be back regularly!
