Where do you start? The grounds are spectacular, the rooms are beautiful, the breakfast is amazing, and you're in the wine country. The concierge gave us wonderful recommendations for dinner and for the local activities in the area. Could not have asked for a more wonderful place to stay

Total reviews on Trip Advisor exceed 900 but substantially all relate to the previous B&B. Readers should ignore all pre COVID reviews as they relate to Honor Mansion that was a warm Bed and Breakfast inn at the same location. Gone are the daily cookies, scones, wine tastings, afternoon snacks, welcome gifts, turndown service and warm family atmosphere. Honor Mansion sold in 2020. The facility was renovated before emerging as a boutique hotel and potentially an event center branded as The Ruse.
The facility has six Pickleball courts, swimming pool, hot tub and a large shaped putting green. They have high quality construction and are well maintained. Daily individually prepared breakfast is included. Staff is friendly. Street appearance is the same Victorian design as Honor Mansion that fits with the neighborhood but underneath it is a contemporary sterile atmosphere and perhaps that is part of the ruse.
We spent five nights and enjoyed the stay. It's not bad; it's just different.
Shoppers should be aware that the total cost is about 25% higher than the stated rate due to fees and taxes.

We stayed at the Ruse for 4 nights, and it was wonderful. Very quiet and secluded feeling even though it is in the town itself. We had a green side suite which was kind of like a private cottage overlooking the enormous 18 hole rel grass putting green. We didn't have time to enjoy the amenities but the pool and hot tub looked very inviting, we wanted to play bocce ball and pickle ball but no time. Next time. The room was very large, bed uber comfy as were the linens. Every light switch had a dimmer, so you can custom tailor the lighting to your own desires, and the thermostat was NOT on a motion detector and was NOT locked at certain limits, so you can actually set a temp you want, and not have to worry about the unit going dormant while you sleep due to no movement. One of my pet peeves with hotels now..... The bathroom was enormous which a really large walk in showered, fantastic water pressure and a great shower-head. Win, win, win! Breakfast was delicious. It is Cali, so the meal had the Cali feel to it, not waffles, scrambled eggs, etc. but the food was delicious and presented very nicely. All of the staff, front desk, breakfast folks, groundskeepers, room attendants, ALL of them super friendly. The overall decor is modern, very clean, furniture comfy. The overall impression is minimalist, almost Scandinavian i some ways, austere in others. But very pleasing, comfy and functional. The property is gated after 10 pm so very secure. This is a very nice place to stay and we highly recommend it. We do not give 5 star ratings often, The Ruse earned one.

My husband and I were scheduled to stay at Honor Mansion March 2020. Our reservation was for March 18-21. My credit card was charged $772.88 on Feb 3, 2020 and 1690.77 on Feb 18,2020. Needless to say everything was shut down and we were not able to travel. I was told at the time by Steve that we would receive a credit to use at a later date. I have been trying for the last couple of months to contact someone at Honor Mansion. Phone is disconnected and email they provide is"non-deliverable". I am concerned they have gone out of business? Does anyone have any information? It make me sick to think I have lost almost $2500.00

What a fantastic hotel. The service from the staff is intimate and kind. The facilities have all the bells and whistles of a larger resort The guest rooms are gorgeous with high end furnishings. Food was delicious and the recreational activities onsite are a blast. Being able to walk to downtown Healdsburg in less than 10 minutes a huge plus. I highly recommend this place located in wine country!

Exceptionally charming B&B. Rooms are well appointed with plenty of amazing amenities and made for relaxation. Common areas are welcoming and comfortable. The pool, mini golf course, pickleball, and bocce ball courts are well taken care of and allow for a fun afternoon or morning. Derrick and his team made our work retreat flawless and were incredibly accommodating to all of our needs.

I stayed at The Ruse this past week for a work retreat, and the experience was fabulous. From the moment you walked in, you felt welcomed and cared for. It's an intimate setting with 11 luxury guest rooms with a pool, mini golf course, pickle ball, and bocce ball. Walking distance to Old Town Healdsburg. Spacious guestrooms and excellent food. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

We hosted an executive retreat here, and the property was absolutely perfect for it! The rooms were lovely, the grounds were beautiful, and the service was excellent. We especially loved The Pavilion — it was ideal for having our meetings and meals, with tons of natural light and space to relax as well. Highly recommend.

Quiet in the winter but the staff is attentive and helpful in setting up wine visits. Our room is one of the larger villas. Very comfortable and a lovely fireplace with a lovely private patio in the rear.

Honor Mansion is currently closed, undergoing an extensive renovation. It’s also undergone a change in ownership. The grounds have been dug up, the tower suite has been demolished. It appears they are adding additional rooms at the back of the original house.

Good morning! Thank you for your inquiry. We don't have a formal meeting space inside or out. However, depending on the size of the group, we can talk about the option of you using our parlor area. Generally it would be available starting at 10:00 am and we could discuss upwards of 4-5 pm. We also have large suites that some small groups have used for the meeting while staying in other rooms. Please feel free to call us and we can discuss more details depending on your needs. Just ask for our Guest Services Manager. We look forward to hosting you!
Hi Robin,
Thank you for your inquiry! Well certainly yes, there is a probable chance of rain, or it could just be sunny and cool weather. That happens often! Nonetheless, our offerings are the same, inclusive of our full gourmet breakfast, afternoon homemade refreshments, and wine and appetizers each evening. It's a wonderful time to entertain one of our 7 outside private suites which all have fireplaces and lovely sitting areas as well as fireplaces and each their own outdoor private Jacuzzi tub (covered) so it can be enjoyed this time of year! Also, if the weather is just cold but not raining you can still enjoy our full resort ground with bocce, tennis, croquet and more! And all of our neighboring wineries are open! We have full concierge service so we can facilitate with wonderful tours and tastings in all of our regions some with food and wine or whatever you are interested in. Also, there are lovely places to hike (including Armstrong Woods-Redwoods), if the weather is agreeable! In addition, you could entertain in room massages from our independent therapists. Please let us know if we can answer any other questions for you! We look forward to hosting you!
So sorry for the delay in responding. Yes, in fact, a full gourmet breakfast and afternoon refreshment wine and appetizers in the evening are included
