They denied us a campsite because the brash and very rude camp manager thought our dog looked too much like a pit bull'. (Our dog is a fully-trained, very well-mannered rescue from the SPCA after the Lake County fires last year. He is documented by that organization as a border collie and fox hound mix.) It is VERY SAD that...

Best camp host ever. Chris is truly the best. Super guy who loves what he is doing and it shows. The campground itself is very clean, well run, well laid out and is in a great location. Might be my best camping experience ever. Stewart Gardner

I have to say this is the cleanest campground I have ever visited; and Chris the owner takes great pride in that. You will not be disappointed with the amenities: hot showers (.25c/minute), SUPER clean bathrooms, very nice campsites (some say too close), each site equipped with fire ring and grill, and picnic table....above all else it is in the...

It's very well maintained, good restrooms and showers, nice sides, close to the river, excellent location in the middle of everything. What could be better? It's right of a busy road, so the car noise at night could be disturbing a bit. Spotty phone coverage. But, still, it's an excellent place to stay.

This is a great place to camp if you are in russian river valley area and want a quiet, wooded area with clean facilities and access to river and central spot to explore. For 3 years now, we have taken a road trip through a different part of north CA wine country. So this is from an out of state...

This review is only for day use--I didn't stay over night with that being said this was a lovely campground. The staff was very kind and helpful-they recommended the Korbel Deli and it was delicious! It's $5 a person for parking for the day which includes use of the Russian River and restrooms. This is the recommended parking for SUP...

The Schoolhouse Family are a #1 recommendation in our book! A clean campground, pleasant, friendly, accommodating owners, a place to wash dishes, spotless bathrooms, etc etc etc make this place an ABSOLUTE for anyone camping in this area. Schoolhouse also has private beach access to the Russian River. We asked Chris (the owner) about tubing and not only did he...

If you're camping as a couple and want a romantic, secluded spot in a beautiful setting, site #30 is called the honeymoon site due to several marriage ceremonies held there, but it should be due to the awesome atmosphere. It is the last site at the end of the wooded canyon. One of our best campsites ever! (photo below) Chris...

This campground is basically for tents...it's rustic, but that doesn't mean you can't maneuver your small rig in (we have an Aliner pop up) but there is little in the way of prepping sites - v few with elec. and it is 15 amp. It's v clean, you are in the woods, but I would recommend moving on if there...
