After a long beautiful drive up the coast, we arrived at Whale Watch Inn. We were celebrating our “babymoon”, our last getaway for a while, and we brought our small dog along for the occasion. We had a reservation for 2 nights. Check in is at 3 but we showed up at 1 and planned to have a little cheese...

Absolutely beautiful inn. The host Mirin, was so nice and helpful. Great place to pick up a bottle of wine and gaze out to sea all while listening to the waterfall and watching whales, elephant seals and birds. Classy. A must visit. Tranquility personified. Will visit again for a longer period.

This place is amazing if you are looking for a romantic getaway. We stayed in "Morning Light", which is a small room (pretty much just a big bed) but it has a breathtaking view. It also has a fireplace. Breakfast in the morning was super delicious and served in the next room (Whale Watch room which is open to all...

I hadn't been here for 30 years (and 2 owners), but it's just as lovely as ever. Mirin gave us a tour, settled us into our room, and greeted us each morning with a wonderful breakfast. We arrived after dark, so my wife was completely surprised in the morning by the stunning view (see photos). I'm pretty stingy with my...

Highway one along the California Coast is a memorable experience by itself. Take it to the Whale Watch Inn in Gualala CA, experience the ambience and comfort of the Inn, meet Robert and Meren the owners and you have a nearly complete experience. Nearly comes with the first breakfast delivered to your room. Meren and Robert have created a breakfast...

A room with a view over looking a private beach , a great breakfast served to the room each morning, a Saturday night wine social all make a great stay. The resort is ocean side among the trees and ocean sounds are great things to offer.

Sad that I waited 20 years to come back.. peaceful, relaxing, and the best place to unplug.. definitely will not wait so long for the next visit! Great view from our deck, love the private beach. Breakfast in the morning is wonderful.

We booked the Cliffside Room because it appeared to have the best ocean view of all of the rooms. No disappointment there; it was spectacular! Miren, the owner, explained that the building in which the Cliffside Room is located was the original owner's house. It contains two bedrooms and a large living room where the Saturday night social is held....

My husband surprised me for our anniversary with a weekend at the Whale Watch Inn. The charming location and promise of a quiet weekend had us off to a great start. The lobby was unassuming but our room, The Bath Suite, took my breath away! Our view from not only the main room but also the bathroom upstairs was panoramic....

My husband and I recently spent just one night at the Whale Watch Inn on our way down the beautiful California coast. I wish we could have stayed another night and explored the area some more. Miren, the owner, was very friendly and made us feel very welcome. There was an evening social in the spacious and comfortable Whale Watch...
