We stayed here for 3 nights in July. The building is run down and in need of some basic repairs. There are ripped carpets and chipped paint throughout most of the common spaces. We were shown to a room directly outside the elevator which had a small balcony. Since we were paying for a platinum King room, we asked if... More

My husband and I spent two nights here run a Lakeview room. Terrific view. The room was spacious and clean and the windows opened to let in that fresh Muskoka air. It was hot during the day and we had no issues with our AC in the room. The resort has been brought up to date inside and and looks... More

We had an anniversary dinner and happened to be staying on Lake Rosseau. Decided to visit the Windermere Grill, one of the finest dining options in the area. Reservations were a challenge..."oh, I don't know sir, we're very very busy at 6 and 7, but I might fit you in at 6:15?"...got there and the place was 2/3 empty. Service... More

We came during two of the hottest weeks of July and was disappointed to discover that our room was at least 26 degrees Celsius at night. Our AC unit has been running constantly but is tucked away in a corner where it has no hope of reaching the vicinity of the bed. When we spoke to the front desk -... More

We had the berry sangria as it was sangria Saturday. Very refreshing . The soft chicken tacos had a bit of a bite and peanut sauce on top. A nice share . The hot crab dip came with a variety of crackers / bread sticks ..... Both were lovely and tasty mid day snacks to share .

I stayed one night with a couple of friends on a Saturday. The resort is very clean and the grounds were very well kept. We had drinks in the afternoon on the terrace with a great view of Lake Rosseau. Our server was attentive but it wasn't overly busy. We ended up having the same server when we had dinner... More

We very much enjoyed our time at the Windermere House, the grounds are beautiful, very well kept and the view of Lake Rosseau spectacular. The accommodations were comfortable and the balcony (which we hadn't expected to get) was huge and very relaxing at the end of the day. The staff were very helpful and promptly attentive to one or two... More

A memorable weekend at Windermere with a group of friends. Excellent service all around in a beautiful setting. Despite a summer squall taking out the region's power, Windermere pressed on under generators and their staff carried it off with hardly a hint. Rosseau grill dinner was lovely, downstairs pub was lively and fun. Good times.

We ate dinner on the terrace at Windermere with another couple. It was quite busy mid-week. Drinks came at an ok pace and service was good (our waiter was quirky and funny). While we sat on the terrace to get sushi, we ended up ordering the more "pub like" options instead as the Sushi was quite expensive. The trout dinner... More

Stayed for 2 nights in June. The room was good with a nice balcony overlooking the lake. Great breakfast; lots of choice and delicious. The only problem was that our neighbours smoked on the balcony which was effectively 3 feet from where we were sitting making our balcony unusable, and having our windows/doors open undesirable. There should be a no... More
