Yes, this hotel is dated and old, but it is totally fine! The staff was very helpful and switched our room to one that had a better view and a patio when we asked. Extra pillows were brought promptly. Guest services were the best here...More
First and foremost I am not sure there are any really super nice but yet affordable places near Yosemite and frankly you are there for all the majesty of the park. This hotel is really close but the rooms are pretty dated. I can't remember...More

We were not on a bus trip. We took the public bus (YARTS) to Yosemite from Mariposa. While at the park, Mariposa was evacuated and we were lucky enough to get a room at Yosemite Lodge...where there was no power!! We did not see any bugs or scorpions...but perhaps because there were no lights!! We ate cold sandwiches from the restaurant that were very good...under the circumstances! Don't fret so much! Life is short! Be thankful for a roof over your head and running water! Yosemite is amazing! You will be exhausted and the Lodge will be great!!!

Yes, there was air conditioning and it worked fine. Not too loud either. We had a room that overlooked the creek, so we also would open that to get a cross breeze (crossed to the window in the bathroom). Oh, and there was a ceiling fan. We went with AC at night, though. I think the creek view room might have been an upgrade, but it was worth it. If you're there to see nature, you don't want to look at a parking lot. :)
