Spotlessly clean and well maintained rooms and public areas. Housekeeping staff, front desk and everyone else very welcoming. Beds were comfortable and had both soft and firm pillows. Room had coffee maker, fridge and microwave. It’s also not right next to a freeway so there is minimal outside noise.
My company was invited to Los Angeles for a pre-Oscar event. I decided to stay at the El Monte location due to the awesome reviews. First I would like to compliment the hotel on the spacious rooms and the lobby area. My entire stay was fine until the final night. I and my brand ambassador were arriving back after attending a Gala. We were in gala attire (full ball gowns, etc). Irene was working the front desk that night. When we approached the lobby the door was locked and we couldn't get in. Irene looked at us and asked the reservation name through the speaker. I told her my name and waited for her to open the door. Nothing happened and awhile later she asked for my name again. I told her my name again and also told her my company name and room number. We waited there awhile and I asked could she please open the door. Finally she opened the door. I wasn't sure what happened since I never had a problem entering the hotel on previous nights. She said she needed to make sure we weren't homeless people. Now, I'm not sure about the homeless people in Los Angeles, but in Louisiana they don't show up with full ball gowns, and professionally done makeup. She also said she wanted to make sure we wouldn't knock randomly on guest doors. In all my life I have not been mistaken for a homeless person or a prostitute. To say I was upset would be an understatement. I spoke to the manager the next morning and his response was she's done that before. I am not sure why Holiday Inn would allow someone to work the front desk that has a history of insulting guests. She definitely made the trip memorable, but for all the wrong reasons.…
I’ve stayed here on several occasions. The service is above and beyond, at one point allowed me to check in at 5am after a red eye. The rooms are very spacious with high ceilings and extra clean. The pool area is clean and nice. I did not try the restaurants on site. Parking is ample and free. This hotel is located in a suburb of LA and is minutes away from the 10 freeway and 20 minutes away from downtown LA. I highly recommend for a simple, clean stay.
Though we missed their yummy breakfast when they changed the policy to reflect the Pandemic, there were tons of breakfast restaurants near by anyway. If you enjoy the gourmet and not enjoy the LA traffic, you should consider to stay here. Staffs work hard to maintain their facilities clean and treat all guests with hospitality. Will stay here again once we come back to LA.
We were in the area on a family holiday with our 10 & 13 year old to see all the Los Angeles sights. I believe we were at this hotel for 5 nights. The hotel was very conveniently located from just about everything (about 30 minute drive to Disney, Universal, Venice Beach, Hollywood Blvd) The staff was very friendly and helpful. When I checked in I was greeted by a staff member named Franklin. Because we were travelling from Canada I asked him if he knew any places to get my PCR test. He told me he'd work on it and get back to me. Approx 30 minutes later he called my room and told me to check my emails because he sent me a long list of free places to get my PCR test. I was very impressed by this. Overall, the hotel was very comfortable, clean & we felt safe in the area. We'll return again the next time we are in town.…
Overall, this is a very nice hotel. Its building condition is great and its lobby is spacious and feels welcoming. It is nicely decorated too during the holiday season. The hotel cleanliness is excellent. The room is spacious and equipped with nice amenities. I like the fact that its HVAC is quiet. Would definitely stay here again when visiting the area.
Holiday Inn El Monte - Los Angeles The property is huge and beautiful. The lobby is very large, and natural light flood in and make the whole place bright and cheerful. However, it’s obvious the property has cut corners in many areas in the name of covid n cost cutting: - the pool is not heated. The pool area is nice but one can’t swim in the cold water. I look forward to afternoon swim during my 4-day stay at this property but I am disappointed throughout my stay - the Guest Laundry has not bn tidied up - housekeeping is minimum / absent - breakfast is takeaway; gone is the joy of a sit-down breakfast at a hotel - all water coolers/points hv bn turned off The saving grace is the gym. However, some essential weight machines are falling apart. Holiday Inn El Monte - Los Angeles a beautiful property. But the management needs to expand the team of staff so that essential areas can be improved. For the time being, this property is for a very short stay, like one or 2 nights. The joy associated with staying in a Holliday Inn property cannot be found here.…
Holiday Inn El Monte - Los Angeles was beyond my expectation! I usually stayed at Hilton Los Angeles/San Gabriel for closer access to tons of delicious Chinese foods, but this time it was way more expensive than Holiday Inn El Monte. Holiday Inn El Monte was still not too far away from many Chinese restaurants within short driving distance. Very spacious guestroom, super clean, quiet and safe; friendly and helpful staff. Hot breakfast was provided for a fee though.
We had a fabulous time at Holiday Inn this past weekend. The hotel exceeds expectations. Parking- the parking is open and not secure, however we did not have any issues. Security- they have a security guard when you first enter the lobby. I also saw another guard making rounds around the hotel. This made us feel quite safe. Room- the room and bathroom was very clean- we have no complaints and stayed comfortably. Only complaint is that our thermostat kept adjusting to 66 degrees in the room which is freezing. We would move it up and over time it would go back down. No idea why, but we managed. Food tip- try El Taquito down the street- very authentic and delicious
We booked multiple rooms (2 queens + a sofa bed) as a family and were able to request for the same floor as well as nearby rooms in advance. On top of the 2 queens and sofa bed, each spacious room contains 2 large screen TVs, refrigerator, microwave, closet, multiple drawers, sufficient desk space, cushioned one-seater sofa, a rolling desk chair, coffee machine, hair dryer, iron, ironing board, and safe. There is a pool, restaurant, laundry space, fitness center, phone charging station, printing center with computer, ice machine and vending machines on the guest floors. The restaurant was closed during our stay and we did not use the additional accommodations. I believe the fitness center is also closed due to COVID restrictions in the meantime. It appears all guest rooms are located in floors 2 and up. The hotel has two elevators and practice COVID safety cautions with hand sanitizer stations and plastic barriers at check in. There is also a spacious seating area on the first floor near check in. CLEANLINESS: Rooms were extremely clean with a few exceptions. Some light fixtures and the bathroom light switches were dusty. Bed sheets were not changed from the last guest and had hair between the sheets. This wasn’t a high priority issue since it was a small number of hairs, however, this may raise concerns with COVID. COMFORT: Beds were comfortable, but sofa beds were terribly uncomfortable and are more like a futon-style than a pull out sofa bed. You may need to request for extra blankets to help ease the comfort level of the sofa bed. PARKING: Spacious parking lot in the front and back lots with back entrance permitted with key card. There are also a few electric car chargers in the front parking lot. SERVICE: Great service provided by staff. They were very accommodating to our requests. LOCATION: The hotel is located in a safe neighborhood and has a McDonalds next door. The highway and shopping plaza with Target are just a short drive away.…
