The lodge was beautiful and had that mountain rustic charm. The man in the office was friendly. The bed in the room was HUGE! It was late at night and I was getting tired, I saw the exit with the lodge advertised so I took it. I had my 4 children with me and all he had was a one...

We always stay here. Dunsmuir's the best stop between L.A. and Seattle, and the Dunsmuir Lodge is the best place to stay in town. Quiet, friendly, tucked off the highway. Pet friendly, too. You're close to town but you can see the moon rising over the mountains. Whether you're headed to fish the Upper Sacramento or highballing down the I-5...

Dunsmuir lodges host was verry welcoming and accommodating. Really comfy and clean room... beds are massive. The lodge is well priced and close to shasta mountian for easy access to go riding the slopes.

Dunsmuir Lodge is easy to get to and there is no Interstate 5 noise. The room clean and cozy. Bed very comfortable. Close to downtown Dunsmuir. =) Family and pet friendly place to stay. Attendent checking us in was friendly and very helpful about the area. Check-in was a breeze. Wonderful to have coffee maker in room, including hot chocolate.

I was on a solo tour with my enduro and was caught in a mighty wind and rainstorm while I was making a shot down i5. I had my camping setup but was frankly tired of being wet so I hopped off the freeway and ended up here. The night manager was really nice and gave me a room next...

Priced reasonably, I don't expect perfection. Cleanliness is the most important criteria. I think this used to be a little motor hotel from the 1950s or possibly even older. Pros: Price, location, cleanliness, comfort, king size bed, cute log frame, rustic patch quilt, helpful manager, welcoming to my dog. Showed me where I could walk him, out front at night...

Thanks for the kudos, and thanks for the doggie package idea. We do have extra blankets, but sheets and rags would help pet owners keep them clean. We'll add those to the available amenities. Thanks for your review.

As others have noted it is an older motel but the owners have done a nice job keeping it updated where possible. The room was very clean and the manager/owner was very attentive and interested in making our stay pleasant. We would stay there again when we come back to visit.

We stayed in Dunsmuir Lodge for 3 nights. Our room provided quite basic amenities. But the beds were decent. However, when the owner came to know that we were there for 3 nights, he came by to say hi and gave us bunch of booklets to see what's around. We had a really nice chat with him about surrounding places...

Thank you for your review. I'm glad your stay was good. I always try to make guest feel welcome and to find local attractions they will like. Whether it's a quick easy drive-up view, or a more intense hike or day trip around Mt Shasta... Eric @ the Lodge

Enjoyed stopping here. Room small by American standard but clean. Beds were an amazing sight to see. Internet was good. Walkable to centre of town to get to restaurants etc. Would happily stop here again. It seemed very pet friendly. Very different to all the chain hotels we stopped at.

The hotel is just okay. The room we stayed in had a heating and cooling unit that serviced a few rooms. There was no thermostat in our room. So we had to share the same temp with other rooms. We were not happy about that!!! The worst part was the hotel manager coming out of his room (next to ours...

We are a quiet, peaceful place. In eleven years of business we have never had to address people slamming doors and chirping their alarm as much as you. It was as if your alarm was going off on purpose. You were so noisy that you generated complaints. We're sorry you feel entitled to make noise with your car alarm around...
