We been coming to Crestline for over 50 years and have stay at Sleep Hollow several of those times. Most of the time it’s just a day trip, however we decided to treat ourselves and stay over night at our favorite place. Check in and checkout were easy, property management was great. They are working hard to make some improvements. We stayed in Grey squirrel, comfortable little cabin perfect for a couple/friends or small family. I slept on the fold out couch and it was not bad at all In my opinion. Next time we feel like treating ourself we will not hesitate to stay again.
We attempted to contact this place with a question before potentially booking. We sent a message on the website and sent several emails to their info@ address over the course of 2 weeks. NOT ONE RESPONSE. We booked our 10-night stay elsewhere. If this is how they treat prospective guests BEFORE booking/arrival I can't imagine how awful the stay would be. At least we found out before booking.
Very nice room and comfortable bed. Nice room for a nights stay, but for the romance package, I would recommend buying your own flowers, they were pretty and springish. Carnations and daisy but not romantic. I would prefer some red roses or at least roses period. The bottle of champagne was an $8 bottle so bringing your own would be better. The fireplace is not a real fire, they give you 2 carasean cans to light and the flame is your fire on a ceramic log. The rooms/windows are definitely not soundproof. We heard kids running and jumping above us pretty late and also heard cars driving by outside. Also, water in the shower was not hot. We got it warm enough just to wash up and then it got cold. Overall nice room, but not for a romantic night.
I don't like leaving bad reviews but I hope to spare another family from making the same mistake we did. The list is long. Our room electricity and heat kept shutting off several times throughout the night when it was below 20 degrees. My husband had to get up each time to notify management. The management's living quarters were directly below us, and there was yelling, cursing and crying throughout the night, very sad and disturbing. They continued to slam doors. They were smokers so the smoke seeped through the thin walls and vents leaving an awful smell and poor breathing quality. In the am, we told the management we couldn't stay there another night with our children. Kerry said she would refund our credit card for the second night. But the letter I received from my credit card company shows that she is disputing it. Luckily we have photos and video of the yelling, the power going off etc. We could have disputed the first night's stay as well, but honestly we felt sorry for this family/management and the reality they live in. I wouldn't recommend this property or even the area. There were questionable, shady people lingering around, as well as a man on a balcony across the street yelling and cursing as people walked by. We love the mountains, but will stick to areas that we know are safer.…
I had an issue with the a/c unit twice..the maintenance man was able to resolve my issue in a timely manner. Room was clean and there were plenty of towels. I was early and I had no problem with an early check in.
We stayed one night. At check in we were told maid service was running behind so rooms might not be made up yet. TV remote doesn’t work & the hot & cold water knobs are backwards-be careful when taking a shower. We went to the room since we were given the key. DISASTER. Not just unmade beds or towels on the floor either. Smelled awful because there was old pizza, in an open box, empty drink cups EVERYWHERE plus other trash. We put our bag in a cubby that was free of garbage. We were on our way to a BBQ and got ready among the mess. I put my curling iron on the shelf above our bag & my husband changed shoes & left his nice, leather flip flops on the floor. Later realized we shouldn't have left our stuff because it just caused confusion for the maids. On our way out, we stopped by the office to complain of mess. We returned to or room at nearly 11pm, the room was clean but all our belongings were gone. My husband went to the office to retrieve our things. The next morning we realized his flip flops were missing so he went to get them. They didn't have them and no one had seen them. As stupid as this may sound, the flip flops originally belonged to my now deceased brother in law & were given to my husband. Flip flops cab be easily replaced but sentimental value cannot. If a place of business is aware of issues; non working remote, hot/cold water reversed, why wouldn't you correct these things? At a cost of almost $200/night, that expectation doesn’t seem too unreasonable. …
We booked three rooms and we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay here... the rooms were very clean and spacious. The cabins were well stocked. It's on the main highway so walking distance to a lot of restaurants and the Lake. The customer service was outstanding from the front desk to the maintenance staff. I would definitely return.
First the staff was very friendly. The rooms are so nice and the bed and pillows are very comfortable. The fire place makes it so cozy. There is everything within walking distance. I am def. coming back soon, thank you!
Stayed here with my girlfriend and shortly after checking in, I received an alert that my credit card was being used down the street. With the help of the Sheriff, we identified that the manager of the hotel had stolen my credit card and opened a gas station account in my name to buy gas for herself, her boyfriend, and another friend. The boyfriend lives at the motel too and he was a wanted parolee and they found narcotics and other illegal items in their room. I did not feel safe here but everywhere else was booked. I asked to speak to the owner to get some assurances that we would be safe in the hotel, but she didn’t care or even offer an apology that I had to spend the first several hours of my stay filling out police reports because of her staff. The owner seemed more upset that I called the police and got her employees arrested. The criminals running the place was only half the problem too. All the rooms smelled awful and smoky, every vent was missing, and the rooms were just run down in general. Stay here at your own risk!…
Wish I could give a better review! We stayed in room 4 which is next to the Landry room. So at night they ran the machines so the whole room shook. One morning we got up later and I guess the hot water had been used up by the laundry room so no hot water. I could tell everyone was doing what they could to make the stay good. The room was clean and the ambience of the room was nice. Location of it was great store nearby and great restaurants.
