We spent 3 days on the island and tried both standard and delux room. The difference was minor, so the standard room might just be good enough. The hotel is divided in several buildings each of them made of real wood and with bizzare decoration (there was a dead bear OMG). But aside from those kitchy moments it is quite...

Very small but cosy hotel. The rooms are simply furnished but very clean. There is a café in the hotel. All in wooden style. The monastery and excursion bureau is just in 3 minutes walk. The pier is also nearby.

This hotel is situated sort of away from the center of the Solovetsky settlement. From the main monastery you need to go to the south past the Sberbank office. It consists of several buildings - one administrative with a restaurant, and several accommodation buildings. They are all made of wood. There are even skins of animals in them. The owner...

We are in the place where was one of the most famous gulag of stalinian age. But this hotel is a classic mountain hotel all in wood. It is a warm place with an hot atmosphere and a good wood smell. We were in the suite rooms, with a bear skin over the stairs. The hotel consists of different buildings...

Probably the best you can get at the Solovetskij islands. New hotel with nice and clean rooms. WiFi is free but works only in some areas. But service is unheard of in the restaurant. Slow and you need to speak russian if you want to order. Only 10 minutes walk to the monastery and the main tourist attractions.

In a shtetl-like village, with un-paved roads, in the Russian sub-Arctic, on an island that is cut off from overland/oversea transport for seven months a year, reachable twice a week by air on an old Antonov, it was amazing to find accommodation this comfortable. Looks like a set of Alpine chalets. Fifteen minutes walk to the Monastery/Gulag prison camp. Breakfast...

The hotel is located about 25 minutes walk from the boat landing. Staff was very friendly, especially Anna from the reception. She did very much her best to speak English. Our junior suite was in a wooden building, very nice. Unfortunately we had 'noisy' neighbors that were talking and walking every time we woke up (1.30 AM, 5.30 AM). Despite...

It's a very nice place. All the amenities you could expect in this remote place. The food is good, too, though for USD 160, I would have thought the coffee could be better than Nescafe. But if you're daring enough to travel to Solovki without being fluent in Russian, this is a real safe haven. People at the desk are...

If you can find some summer days to spend them in Russia just for enjoying unique nature or historical events, this hotel is your choice. You can easy reach this place by Russian domestic airline "Aeroflot-Nord" with one stop in Arkhangelsk and it takes not more then 6 hours from Moscow International airport Sheremetyevo-1. This hotel is located in 15-20...
