The day may begin with a rich breakfast in the estate's traditional coffee house alongside the rising sun. Our guests can let loose in the shade under the trees reading a book or sampling traditional meze and raki in the Cretan tavern which we lovingly built or taking a bicycle, horse into the river trail and the surrounding mountains making their way from the cave of the Holy Fire to the village of Tylissos with its rich archaeological findings and the unparalleled local hospitality. Upon returning to the estate, the invinting B.B.Q, the fully equipped fitness room and the pool are at their disposal. We would recommend that you let the sunset catch up with you at your private veranda, while you allow yourself to be distracted by the sound of flowing water and the sight of nature, wild and blooming. As for those days when you cannot avoid the use of a car, things could not be simpler: the most prominent destinations, such as the city of Heraklion, the airport, the harbor, Knossos, organized beaches and the tourist resorts of Ammoudara and Agia Pelagia are no more than 10 or 20 minutes away. After all, the highway that connects the biggest Cretan cities to each other lies but 5km from the estate.

Our family spent 6 nights at the beautiful Estate Kares. Georgia, the host, treated us as if we were family. The food was amazing and amongst some of the best we had in Greece! Lots to explore, breathtaking views and lots of space to soak up the sun, have a drink, and relax. A beautiful slice of paradise, perfect for the whole family. We will definitely be back!

Poor quality of everything. Electronics not working properly, not always someone around when you need someone. Poor cleaning service, food average, but with a good view. Although the rocky no signature road to get there makes you think twice. Good luck if you choose this hotel. Photos can be deceiving.

The staff is very welcoming and kind, always available for everything you need. When I got there they told me the best places in Crete to visit and they offered me a fresh made juice made by them. The breakfast is served from 9 to 11 and is all organic and produced by the estate (juices, jams, croissant, sweets, milk). The structure is lovely and is located in a beautiful zone immersed in nature, there are two beautiful horses that you can feed (carrots or apples). The view is amazing but to get there you have to access from a rural street, you definitely need a car or a taxi, not the best option if you want to travel every day, it's a very good choice for families or people that just want a relaxing place to chill. Some minor issues I encountered: The water pressure is intermittent (there is a normal flow and a weak flow). The WiFi connection wasn't stable during my staying. To use the jacuzzi you have to pay €15 for a hour. During the day time there is a lot of natural light due to the presence of various windows but during the night time the room is kinda dark because there are only weak artificial lights on the walls. Overall it was a nice staying and I strongly recommend it if you are looking for a relaxing place to relax in a natural environment.

Manolis the owner wanted to make his guests discover the valley of his childness. He built a lovely cretan like hamlet with all conveniences ans nice vies to countryside, the Cretan sea ans the city of Heraklio. With Georgia, the intendant and cook, je found the soûl of his place. Not only Georgia prepare nice food from local organic products but brings her knowledge of the island ans her so friendly attitude. We had suce a nice week there. Thank you Manolis and Georgia . Dorcas, Cyriaque and Pascal from Paris.

Sooo quiet place not so far away from Heraklion ! Georgia welcomed us warmly, cooked the dinner for us even it was not planned and prepared a cake for our breakfast. Yummy ! The Location is perfect for the ones who likes quiet place. The view from the Terrasse is perfect (on the sea and on the mountain). The only disappoiting think is actually that the Hotel becomes old and seems not to be so well maintained : very high potential for this Hotel but the infratstructure is not at expected Level of Quality for this Price. Come with a car. Trip to Airport => 25 mn !

We loved it here. It's off the beaten track, quiet in the off-season and made all the better for the love and devotion of Georgia, who took care of us as if we were her own. Beautiful furnishings and views, lovely jacuzzi bath and everything we needed to cook for ourselves (except the desire, if Georgia's cooking was on offer as an alternative!) We will definitely be back (as long as she's still there!)

We stopped here for one night before our early flight the next morning. A gorgeous mountain setting with a homely feel. Views to die for! The rooms are well kept and so comfortable with an outlook over the valley. But the best thing was Georgia, what a wonderful woman. We were taken care of much like you would expect at home with your mum, nothing but warm, kind and caring. She cooked us a beautiful traditional Cretan meal, so tasty. Thank you to all the staff, I can honestly say that one day we will be back!

Booked one night in the mountain view room. On arrival we were greeted warmly and taken to our accommodation. Upon entering I realised this was not the room we had booked. Our host when questioned admitted this was not our room as this had become unavailable being very vague as to the reason why. We were offered a refund if we did not want to stay and given the room we were offered was inferior took the refund. The staff never attempted to tell us why our room was unavailable and upon further investigation this is because they had taken another booking which they chose not to tell us. Appalling customer service book with caution. Stayed in Heraklion instead great atmosphere and choice of first class restaurants.
