My wife and I stayed at Calamondinn Bungalow for two nights on 29th. & 30th. April 2022. My take on this Home Stay, a beautiful property. 1. The bungalow and surrounding property are superlatively maintained. The house reminds one of the Old World Mansions and when one is maintained as beautifully as Calamondinn Bungalow is, it should be recognized as an INSTITUTION in itself. It is extremely neat, clean and filled with memorabilia. 2. Our host at Calamondinn, Mr. Arjun, family and the rest of the Staff, were ever ready to make our stay very comfortable. Mr. Arjun gave expert guidance to visit places of interest in Coorg, with the requisite directions, timings etc. We could not ask for more with such excellent hosts. 3. The food provided was a delicious spread and we ate heartily. 4. The room and attached toilet was spacious and spotless. Very well maintained. 5. The garden was well maintained and we were surrounded by a forest of green with flowers in full bloom. A feast for the eyes. 6. Excellent value for money. 7. There is adequate car parking in the premises. We are very glad we chose Calamondinn Bungalow for our visit to Coorg. Mohan & Chhaya

A sleepy place…..If you want to relax in a old charming bungalow in the midst of coffee plantations and dense trees, look no further than Calamondinn Bungalow… The place is extremely well maintained. Devika Aunty and Arjun are hands on and not to mention Aunty cooks awesome food.. I will highly recommend the place if you are looking for a quiet place with lovely people… Arjun was also kind enough to take us to their plantation..

We had a lovely stay at Calamondinn bungalow. The host took us to see the coffee plantation nearby & shared the coffee growing process from bean to brew. The bungalow is surrounded by coffee plantations, it’s a beautiful sight. The host’s mom & the rest of the team cooked us delicious local kodava food everyday. The breakfast & dinner provided was homestyle & light. We couldn’t have been happier with the food. Thank you.

We decided to visit this place after seeing all the good reviews about food and hospitality in Google and Airbnb. The bungalow is tucked into a quite space near Nagarhole and the ambience is mind blowing! The property is maintained very well and there is no way one can even find a fault in any aspect. The host was very humble and helped us immediately as soon as we requested for something. Coming to food,it was superb and very authentic and hygienic. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

It was an absolutely fabulous stay at the Calamondinn Bungalow. An architecturally stunning home with interesting history, where each corner had a different story to tell . The bungalow is beautifully preserved by the Masti family . The stay was very comfortable and the hosts were friendly and accommodating with all our requests. And the food was by far the best part ..simply amazing variety of dishes giving us a taste of the local flavours. It truly felt homely . If there’s one reason you should come here instead of any other home stay in Coorg- it’s the overall experience of being nestled away in the midst of a coffee estate, savouring the feel of all things local - be it the piping hot coffee , the flavourful food , the experience of waking up to the sound of chirping birds, the cool weather and the comfort of just sitting around and soaking up the essence of Coorg in every corner of a luxurious Bungalow

Excellent stay, excellent food and great hosts! This is one of the best homestays we’ve been to. An old bungalow, well maintained - spic and span inside out with large spacious rooms and in a peaceful location is an ideal place to relax and unwind. And to top it all the hosts allow you your privacy and cook some amazing local delicacies.

Was here for some time off, with my family. It was a pleasant stay, amidst nature, off the city's hustle and bustle. The rooms were well maintained, clean, and super spacious, and the interiors tastefully done to give a vintage feel. The hosts, Mr. Arjun and his family, and the staff ensured that we felt comfortable. The food, especially the hot akki rotis (rice flatbreads) were delicious. The walk around the coffee estate, honey making on site were informative and interesting to see. Brandy, Burtie and Alexa made our stay even more enjoyable. 🐾 Overall, it's a quaint bungalow, close to nature that makes for a great stay. :)

Just came back from a stay at the Calamondinn Bungalow. It's a highly recommended place and here's why: 1. The Bungalow is surrounded by Coffee Plantations, which makes the place secluded, but accessible 2. Care has been taken to preserve the natural charm of the Bungalow and it shows in the details 3. The Hosts are warm folks and have a good setup to take care of the guests 4. The food served is fresh, tasty and healthy. You will never feel bloated, even if you over indulge Ask Arjun (the host) to take you around their coffee plantation and you will be amazed by his knowledge and love for nature.

THE DRIVE We made the 5 hour drive from Bangalore airport to this home in the Coorg region close to the Nagarhole Tiger Reserve. The drive on Highway 75 was amazing, and the HW 21 was super scenic as we made our way south to this location. As we crossed part of the reserve into this town, the trees and plantations were unique and memorable. Beautiful drive. THE HOME The home is in the middle of thick, raw coffee plantations and forest. Its deep in nature and beautiful all around. The structure is a 130+ year old home made by an Irishman. The home has a timeless feel from the past and the silent feel of the home is "warmed" up by the amazing hosts. Parts of the home feel little dark, but sitting in the balcony or the outside gazebo brings the forest and sun in. THE HOST Arjun, whose family owns the place, is one of the most engaging, kind and interesting hosts we have ever met. He was more knowledgable about forests, coffee growing, animals, tigers, birds, baking, film making..and much much more! He was an encyclopedia of information and was kind enough to accompany us the next morning to the tiger reserve/forest drive. Arjun, us and all the guests in the other rooms ended up having drinking sessions every night we were there. It was the soul of the trip. THE FOOD Arjun's mom and the local cooks made some of the best authentic south Indian and Coorgy food I have ever eaten. It was not your normal Idli/Dosa. It was uppam, stew, local chana in gravy and much much more. We were there for three nights and have something different for breakfast and dinner every night. It was amazing. And Arjun bakes too believe it or not! His blueberry cheesecake was insane! THE FOREST DRIVE On the second day, we woke up at 5 am and make the 45min drive to the forest entrance with Arjun. We passed in and the early morning forest is definitely worth doing! We saw spotted deer, wild boar, an eagle, and many a times people seee elephants. Now, we think we also saw a tiger in the bushes but the group argued about that a lot :) So I won't lead you guys on, but yes, slim chance you will see one. THE TREES The trip was a good mix of relaxing at the home, but also driving and trekking around the landscape. There are waterfalls and the green is unlike anything you will see in India. Very beautiful! Arjun will provide a lot of suggestions. Also, walking around the house itself, 20 mins in either direction is amazing.

I recently visited Calamondinn with my family and we loved our stay there. The bungalow is soo beautiful, one cannot stop complementing the space and same goes for the hospitality we received. The family was very polite and helpful, the staff too was quite humble. Food especially was delicious, be it chicken curry, appam, stew or simple kababs, everything was very hearty and scrumptious. On an overall level our experience was way beyond our expectation leaving us all happy and joyful which was a much needed end for 2020. If you are browsing through the comments section, do not think much, go ahead and book your stay.
