Detailed Reviews
The thing that is not well advertised is they also have a wonderful RV Park associated with the motel. Wonderful people. Cedarville is a small rural town in Northeastern California, we called hoping they had an available RV spot, they did and were so accommodating in getting us settled. The place was clean and well maintained.

Great job Susie! If you are looking for a high end expensive place, this is not it.
But if you want a quaint, woman ran, clean basic plane, this is it! Great lady running it, quiet place with great prices! And the best star gazing about 4 miles east of town ever.

Everything exceeded my expectations: friendly staff, clean rooms, "COMFORTABLE BEDS", and a great location that was very reasonably priced.

I stay there a couple times per year for both pleasure and business trips. Ample parking with RV hookups too. Lots of room for ATV trailers. Laundry, and close to meals. Something is always being upgraded or improved, and the rooms are impecably clean. A great place to use as a base camp while visiting the Surprise Valley region. - And you can't beat the price.

The Sunrise Motel in Cedarville, California is a great place to stay. It is clean and quiet with reasonable rates. John and Susie Bunyard (owners) are very friendly and helpful. A beautiful setting in a small, quiet town near the Warner Mountains. I have talked to many people who have stayed at the Sunrise and they love going back there year after year.

This motel is a great value for the price. My room was large and very clean. The host was very helpful and friendly and the gardens on the grounds are obviously well-loved and tended. It was so nice to sit out in front on the swinging bench and just enjoy the breeze. I stayed for 3 nights and will definitely stay there again when I'm in the area.

We camped here for one night in June during a multi-day motorcycle ride. The camping site was grass, which was nice, and the shower was warm and strong. It is a short walk into town and there is a gas station very close by. The owners were helpful and accommodating. I would stay there again.

Was looking for a clean and pet friendly hotel in the valley for a last minute trip to visit some hot springs.
We called the Sunrise and the owners were very cordial and relaxed on the phone, said they'd hold a room for us (Cedarville is dead in the Winter so no "holding" is necessary however). Was pleased with the room. We paid an extra $5.00 for our dog, and I think we got a room specifically built for pets with indoor-outdoor carpeting. The hotel is spotless and the owners are very nice. For a motor-inn we had a nice quiet stay, but then again the road that goes by the hotel is quiet in general. Any criticism of the place would have to revolve around the spartan nature of the room, with minimal art on the walls and the crummy cheap bedspreads, and no soap or shampoo in the bathrooms. For $70.00/night in this economy and in this region it would be nice to have a few extra perks added to the rooms to make them seem a bit more luxurious.
Overall I'd certainly recommend the hotel especially considering the limited choices in the area.

A wonderfully peaceful place with very friendly hosts. When I accidentally left my credit card at the local resteraunt, they forwarded the information to help me get it back. Cedarville makes a small tour, but I recommend you stop if you are passing through or you are just rambling.
Just one level, so no access problems. Not much for children to do but play around the garden with a stream running through it. Very inexpensive, with one price and no special rates. Large rooms with minmal furniture, but very clean.
My parents and I stayed one night in October, so the weather was very mild. We were referred down to the resteraunt in town which was very good, a basic American menu. There is a coffee shop across the way, but we didn't get a chance to try it. Only a small grocery in town and they do have a small hospital with a physician on call.
Watch out for the dog that plays like he is injured. I forget his name. He likes to lay in the main street and upset newcomers, like my Dad. The locals all know him and just pass him by.
Also, don't worry about the locals catching up on the news with their cars parked drive side to driver side, chatting from inside their cars in the middle of the road. They'll just wave as you drive around.
