The lodge is exquisitely kept clean and tidy. All appliances work great. The location of the lodge is rural complete with sounds of nature and mooing cows. Very soothing way to spend a few days. Man made intrusive sounds are mostly not present except for occasional sounds of tractors working in the fields. Lots of fun activities to participate in including fishing hiking, star gazing at night, bird watching, hot tub relaxing, some squirrel shooting, exploring nearby historical features, trails of the 49 ers and just plain relaxing in a natural environment

Everything about the stay was perfect. The house feels like home. It is decorated with a personal touch down to every detail. The photo album of the family and friends ranching as well as the photos on the wall added to the homelike feeling. Debra made sure we got back safe after our excursions into the wilderness. We saw wild horses and beautiful scenery. The soak in the hot tub and the complimentary bottle of wine were definitely a relaxing way to spend an evening. The town had fun shops to explore along with great food and sweets. The blackberry cider was delicious. I highly recommend you try Cockrell’s High Desert Lodging. I hope to take more friends and our horses another time to explore the backcountry more.

I stayed at one of the cottages and it was a very nice comfortable experience. Everything was very clean, nice beds, a large bathroom, cable television, all the creature comforts were a cut above. A large kitchen with an open concept living arrangement. The setting around the cottage is so beautiful. High desert with mountains all around. A very relaxing environment to recharge and just relax and read and take walks, barbecue, hot tub. The host Debora makes everything so easy and is very accessible if you have any questions or issues she's right there to help you, an exceptional host.

I cannot rave enough about Debra and the Cockrell's High Desert Lodging. First, Debra is so easy to work with. She is flexible and her word is her bond. I love that. She is also lovely to speak with, friendly, helpful, and creative. Note that this is a working ranch so if Debra doesn't answer the phone, it's likely she is out with the cattle but she will get back to you.
The lodging is incredible. We rented out both lodges for our group. The places are well-appointed and have everything you need...and then some! The beds are comfortable, the place is cozy, as if you yourself had decorated and lived in it, and it's large and roomy. The hot tub is first rate and feels amazing. The garden area is perfectly manicured and there are comfortable deck chairs and grill and table which makes it just amazing to sit outside. then THE VIEWS! I cannot tell you enough. it's absolutely silent out there except for the wind, the owl, and the bird of prey (not sure which one). it's relaxing and gorgeous.
Debra was so helpful to show us where to go for stargazing. it was like being in a planetarium but better! a full 360 view with the milky way going right overhead. incredible!
This place is a gem and we cannot wait to go back.

Very comfortable lodge and a super helpful host that made sure we were well taken care of at all times. Loved the views and the hot tub. This home had everything that you need for a very comfortable stay, even in the middle of winter. The valley and surrounding mountains are beautiful.

Excellent place to stay, quite and very well kept. Gracious host. Our family had a great time enjoying the surrounding area. Lodges have everything you need and great food is just a short drive away in Cedarville. We will come back and highly recommend.

,Each year my April Birthday Girls group takes a trip with 2023 taking us to the Cockrell Ranch. It is an amazing place to relax and enjoy the high desert beauty in a rustic setting with all the comforts of the modern age. Art and decor immerses you in cowboy life, and the hot tub on the deck can provide a sunset after a long day of exploring the area’s small towns and shopping. Did i mention they even offer Cockrell Ranch swag for gifts or just memories of your walk back to a simpler time? We made sure to book our lodging for next April even before we left! And next year we will be staying in the big house!

The Cockrell's place is truly a gem, especially for those seeking both the beauty of the high desert and peace of the mountains in an upscale setting. Though there was quite a bit of snow on the ground and our outside activities were limited by weather... it was no problem! We just got to enjoy the lodges all that much more cooking, drinking, and catching up on stories. Came in a large group of friends and some family and we all had a fabulous time, with that lingering feeling that we should've stayed longer. I would always book that extra day, you will be glad you did. Hard to leave a place like this.

My husband and I stayed in Lodge 2. There were all the comforts of home. We especially appreciated the well equipped kitchen and outdoor grill. The decor was charming with a ranch home theme. Towels and linens were of the best quality. A private hot tub is available as are chairs and benches on the front and back patio area. The Lodge had TV and WiFi and a complimentary bottle of wine. Thank you, Debra, for the warm welcome and for sharing this beautiful home in a peaceful, serene setting.

In lodge 1 there is a part of the lodge that is fine. But not in the inside of the lodge. We get so many requests for animal and smoke free reservations. We do try to accommodate the best we can
There are more places to choose from in the Cedarville area.
