Pleasant enough spacious Room and easy parking. The bed was comfortable although the pillows were soft and non supportive. My only real complaint concerns the breakfast experience: lousy coffee and obnoxious FOX “News” political propaganda blaring in the breakfast room. I was the only one in the room for breakfast and muted the sound. The worker reentered the room and snapped the noise back on. So I retreated to the adjacent outdoor patio.
First, let me say that we've never stayed here before. We came and stayed here for my niece's wedding at the local golf course. We arrived a day early and I had requested a spa tub room. To begin with the room was fabulous. It was CLEAN and regularly maintained you could tell. The spa tub was to die for. The bed had a mattress I loved it was so comfortable and the pillows were sent from heaven. I asked if I could get the address where they got the pillows and they let me buy two of them from them. The customer service was better than any customer service I've ever had my entire life and I'm going on 62. My entire family stayed for the duration of the wedding, but my husband and I arrived early and left a few days after the family. We loved the hotel and service so much we are coming back for our 30 year anniversary on July 11, 2022. This will always be our go to place for a getaway just my husband and I. It is fabulous. I can't say enough about it. The customer service was what stands out even beyond all the other fabulous things the hotel offers. It is just above and beyond any of the others. I love this place every day and every minute. May God have mercy on us. No one paid us to say these things and the hotel workers were above and beyond when it comes to service. I mean you cannot find any better service anywhere.…
Clean, well maintained, convenient access to freeways and Castro Valley. Fantastic staff, friendly and responsive to your requests. The staff treated us like family. Morning breakfast was delicious with multiple choices. We would definitely return. Thanks for the great stay.
This hotel is clean, nice and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was large and comfortable, and my only comment is that the bed was quite hard, but that is just my opinion as I have a bad back. The breakfast was OK considering it was a COVID grab and go.
We chose this hotel for a family gathering nearby. The manager and the housekeeping staff went out of their way to accommodate our group. Yes the facilities and the breakfast are very good, but their attention to guests is outstanding. I highly recommend this hotel. K.D. Patel and Shanden are hospitality superstars.
A nice stay hotel, I lived for two times, and price is also reasonable and transportation is very convenient, and also supply substantial breakfast. Not noisy and quiet, I like soft pillow and mattress which make me have a good sleep. The beddings are meet 5 star standards, and if you only for overnight pass by, it's really good choice.
Needed a place near the airport for a brutally early return flight home. This place is good for that. About fifteen minutes drive from the airport. The area is a bit rough. Saw plenty of cops out. Be mindful of your safety after dark. Room itself was your typical design. No glaring issues but cleanliness seemed a bit rushed — found a few dust bunnies at edges of lamps. Stains on toilet on arrival too.
Large comfortable room, no traffic noise which is always a bonus. TV had numerous channels including many showing movies. Ideal for a short stay. Only downside was the difficulty in logging on to WiFi. Keep getting a not possible to connect message. Also the quality of breakfast items was rather poor.
Quaint hotel in a pleasant little valley. The entire area has a bit of an old world feel to it. I was there for a week on business and even though the laundry service was down in the hotel there was a laundry mat two blocks away with equipment in it from my childhood. All well maintained and working just fine. Back at the Holiday Inn Express early morning breakfast was very nice and covered more then the usual food groups. There were egg white omelets and turkey sausage in addition to the usual affair and the bread and pastries were fresh and tasty everyday. For me the highlight was the staff. Very easy to see the lines of communication were always open between them. It is impressive when you see not only the front desk person but the manager on duty step up to assist the morning cook get the breakfast out. In the same manor the house keepers were fantastic. Here again one very busy day one of the managers came to my room to collect towels and garbage ahead of the housekeepers to help them keep up the pace. An exceptional demonstration of what true team work is! I would give these people 7 stars if I could. Job well done to all of you!…
We were travelling from London to Honolulu via Oakland and wanted an airport hotel for a couple of nights. Having done a search using Tripadvisor we felt that the Holiday Inn Express Castro Valley would be ideal, although a little further from Oakland Airport. We've stayed with Holiday Inn Express at other locations around the world such as Manchester, London and Antwerp and have never been disappointed. This wasn't the reason why we chose this hotel but this hotel certainly lived up to what we have experienced before. Lovely clean, nicely decorated and well equipped rooms which were actually a lot larger than we had expected. Comfy beds and furniture including the 3 seater sofa and a decent sized office desk. All the furniture was in excellent condition. The hotel was quiet and we didn't suffer from any noise problems. Corridors were nicely carpeted and decorated. The couple of staff members who we did meet in reception were friendly and pleasant to deal with. My only complaint is the narrow entrance which you can easily miss when coming down the three lane Castro Valley Boulevard. Other than that, this a great hotel!…
