The showers were dirty, the restrooms looked like they haven't been cleaned since weeks and also smelled like that. We stayed there for one night, then left early and used the restrooms in a restaurant. I also had the feeling that the ranger didn't really care much about my feedback. And this for 50$ there are fare better ones like...

We stayed here for one night in August, a Saturday. We didn't make a reservation until 4 days prior, and I guess that was our mistake because they put us in a lot directly next to the bathroom. When we went to see if we could switch to a different site, we were told everything was reserved. Well, it was...

We live locally and did a quick 2 night end of summer trip. We would go again only if we could get beach front. We have a tent trailer and the campsites are so small all they fit are the trailer and our truck, so its only worth it if you have the beach right out your trailer door. Also...

Our first time here was when I was very small.. and the train scared the living (you know what) out of us. It takes some getting used to. But after you get over the initial shock, it is just back ground noise. This place is a sanctuary to our family. The small town to ride our bikes into, the beach,...

most of the reviewers are crazy! This place is the worst for tent camping. Small dirt lots next to a chain link fence and Amtrak running right next to you ALL hours of the day. Yes the beach is close but yes bathrooms are dirty and not maintained well. Many rodents and LARGE raccoons.

The only thing nice about this campground is its close proximity to the beach. Its a great beach in a fantastic community. However, other than that it is falling apart, many of the sites are literally right next to the railroad tracks, the bathrooms/showers are disgusting and it is cramped. The showers cost 25 cents per 3 minutes and they...

The State Park is falling apart , but still my favorite place to stay. If you want a hot shower you need to go over to Santa Rosa or San Miguel bathrooms , they are the old bathrooms but you get the best shower there. Bathrooms in anacapa and Santa Cruz are truly disgusting and the showers put out Luke...

I have been visiting Carpinteria since I was a kid. It is a beautiful place with a great climate. It is a great place to camp if you plan on being outdoors and on the beach all day. The campsite is conveniently located close to; the beach, hiking/biking trails, amazing tide pools teeming with life in the early hours, decent...

My family and I have been camping at Carp religiously for the last 7 years. You can't beat the location: steps to the beach, steps to town with restaurants, shops, and grocery stores. The camp hosts have been pretty good, and we love the rangers (know them all by first name now :) Yes, the raccoons can be nasty, but...

Watch out for the wildlife! As a camper without a motorhome, I normally cook and eat happily outdoors using the supplied table. However, at this campground it is not really safe to cook or eat outdoors after dark. The raccoons will approach your table and, for lack of a better word, attack for your food. So get your cooking and...
