Just spent two nights in downtown Carmel (Lincoln at 8th) just a block and a half from one of the best fresh organic breakfast spots "The Bicyclette". We had a King in an upstairs ADA handicap room of the historic Homestead Inn, a sister inn...More
We had two rooms here and stayed for two nights, wished we had stayed longer. The rooms were of a good size, clean and cosy. Located in a great spot, close to lovely shops and restaurants and in walking distance of the stunning beach. We...More

I'm going to a road trip through California to celebrate my anniversary and I want to ask for a little help to give me any tips of Carmel and Monterrey. Mandatory programs to visit I've just googled, read on sites like Frommers and blogs on the internet.
My purpose here are get those valuable tips, like "avoid to reach at this place in that particular time...", "do not do this way because the road is worse...", "don´t visit this restaurant, it´s overpriced and the food is so so..." and so on.
Thanks in advance for what can help.
