The Village Inn is in a good location within walking distance to the town center, but that's about all it has going for it. This is just an old motel and while the bathroom appears to have been recently renovated the rooms were musty and threadbare. It was okay for one night but I would not want to stay longer....

We booked this based on all the great reviews. I don't know how this place got any good reviews. It is terrible. We checked out about 10 minutes after checking in, The place is very basic. The room is beaten up and very dated. The basic furniture is marked and old as are all the fixtures within the room. The...

We were winging our Ca. coast drive and Carmel was a destination. We stopped at one of the 1st motels on Ocean Ave and we lucked out. Cute little place, you can hoof it to shopping and eating anywhere. Despite it being on a busy corner (and we had the end unit on Ocean Ave. It was quiet, I got...

Drove by this gem on a Friday afternoon and my Mom remembered staying there awhile back, we were on our way to lunch so I decided to see if they had any vacancies afterward. Found a vacancy on a booking site and bc we were nearby we walked over to see what type of room they were offering. I sent...

Lovely accommodation, very comfortable bed and all the amenities you need. Close to city centre (although it would be hard not to be!) Breakfast was very basic so don't expect much, there's also not enough seats for guests so you might have to wait! Reception staff could have been friendlier, but I'd still recommend this place for your Carmel trip.

We stayed a week at The Village Inn and found the experience to be totally awesome! Why? Because the room was clean, quiet and well furnished. The desk clerks were polite, knowledgeable and friendly. The breakfast was outstanding--considering it was right up our alley--vegan! And the location of this motel is just at the bottom of the hill where the...

Location is what this motel has going for it...and good parking. They serve breakfast, that is pleasant. The rate is good. I did not care for the room. It seemed clean, but dingy at the same time, with frayed lampshades, black out curtains disintegrating and holes in. They were needed to be shut to keep your privacy. Everybody walking by...

Most of Carmel was within walking distance of the motel which is right downtown. Rooms are clean and inviting. Big king size beds with cushioned head board. Nice breakast in the morning - but get there early before everything disappears. Convenient parking. Free WiFI

Stayed at this hotel President's Day weekend. Got a super good rate via hotels.com. Location was kitty corner from the main street. Check in was very easy. Stayed upstairs in room 25. One king bed with what I think is a newly rehabbed bathroom. Spacious and clean. TV has Infinety cable. The room was cold when we entered. There wasn't...

This hotel is easy to find just off the main street and minutes from the highway. The anticipated weather forecast was rain so we weren't worried to much about the location as long as it was in Carmel. The hotel is easy walking distance to everything (stores and restaurants) and a very short walk to the beach. The room was...
