The staff was wonderful, several good dinner recommendations and their directions were spot on. The room is getting a little dated. A remodel would probably be in order. The bed, excellent mattress, sheets, pillows and comforter were equally good, they were the best part of the room. The lack of an air conditioner meant you had the windows open, which...

Hi, Lee! Thanks for praising the staff and, to be honest, it's hard to give a bad restaurant recommendation in Carmel. We're so lucky to have world-class chefs here (and a beautiful beach to walk it off!). We don't usually get a lot of kids here, so please try us again when you can! Take care, Stephanie

Very relaxed environment good location pleasant staff. Easy access to main strip and restaurants. Only dissapointment was there was no fridge in the room to hold all the beautiful wines we acquired and wanted to drink. Great place to spend a relaxing weeken.

Hello, Ceaus! What a nice review! I love the words "relaxed" and "pleasant." That's exactly what Carmel should do for you. The next time you come back, try to book one of the Premium rooms -- they all have a small fridge, microwave, and coffee maker in the room. But if you can't, we can always store your wine for...

The staff was friendly, the room was lovely and very clean. Breakfast was simple, but the coffee was certainly better than the stuff you can make in the room. We were travelling with our 2 dogs and chose this hotel because it is pet friendly. I was a bit confused by the the statement in the pet clause I had...

Hello MrsHans96! Thanks for taking time to do such a nice review for us. We're happy that you and your dogs found us and yes, we do strip the beds and wash the linens for each guest. Some guests are not as considerate and you seem to be, so we have to ask everyone to keep dogs off the beds....

I'm generally not that picky with my accommodations. I expected an "average" experience and would have to say it was not. Good: - daily croissant breakfast, fruit, coffee, juice - beds, pillows, sheets - general cleanliness of room and location Poor - you can hear your adjoining neighbors use their shower, toilet, or even sink. this is plan unacceptable. not...

An older place that has newer, great beds! It's pet friendly and in the perfect location to walk everywhere. One block from Forge in the Forest, Katy's Place, Hog's Breath, Ocean Ave. Lots of restaurants near-by. The building is dated, but the decor has been partly updated - perhaps a work in progress? Good coffee, orange juice, strawberries and pastry...

For convenience and service, this place is outstanding. The staff is always helpful and the rooms are tastefully decorated and quiet. I travel to Carmel on business and don't stay anywhere else when I'm in town.

My fiancé and I stayed here as a stopover on our way up the coast road to Sacramento. On arrival we were greeted by a very friendly receptionist. We were shown to our room by a lovely young man. The room was a lovely size and the furniture was lovely it just set the room off. The only downside was...

Very close to centre of Carmel, reasonable price, free parking/wifi etc. nice large and comfortable room. Friendly staff, only downside is there's no safe in the room but appeared to be safe enough. Free breakfast delivered to room... Nice touch. Would stay here again.

Hello, UKHapytraveller! You pointed out all of our best assets...staff, price, location. And you're right, Carmel is a very safe place to stay -- we do have some rascally raccoons, but otherwise it's pretty quiet here. Take care, Stephanie

Very nice property centrally located in downtown Carmel. Walking distance to Ocean Avenue and and most restaurants. Recommend booking the supreme king rooms to get more square footage, but supreme queen was good. I would recommend this property for a weekend getaway

Hello, mvegman! Thanks for pointing out our great location. Most folks just park their car (for FREE) here and walk everywhere in town. And I agree with you -- the premium rooms are favorites with many of our guests. Hope you'll be able to get away for another weekend soon! Take care, Stephanie

We enjoyed a two night stay over in Carmel, our favorite love nest. The Carmel lodge offered us a nice quaint room with a view of the ocean at a great price. I know that they had larger rooms but we chose their travelers special. I was sorry to see that their pool was not in service.
