We have been here several times and L'Auberge never disappoints. It's all in the details that makes this hotel so special. My favorite is the turndown service. Cookies and milk! are you kidding. We loved it. The tea towel and slippers by the bed. The h20 products in the bathroom. The amazing French breakfast. Omg the chocolate croissants. Yes please!!...

From the moment we arrived everything was perfect. Our room was had an "ocean peak" view and was spacious with a king bed. The bathroom was very clean and the floors had radiant heat which was great. Breakfast was included and was delicious. Turndown service was very nice and the bedside cookies were a great touch! The location was perfect...

"Listen very carefully, I shall say this only once !" Fantastic small 'boutique' hotel set in beautiful surrounds - a truly personal welcome awaits you from the friendly, warm staff. Typically French without the attitude !

Dear scottidholdgit, Thank you for staying with us at L'Auberge Carmel! I am pleased to see that your stay with us was enjoyable! We are a very small hotel with just 20 rooms and a nine table restaurant - thus making it personal is what we are all about! We hope that when you are back in Carmel-by-the-Sea that we...

Thankfully this hotel is not rated number 1 on TripAdvisor because it will be available when we want to return. Beautiful room, impeccable service, great location. Walking distance to shopping and restaurants in Carmel. Walked to Carmel beach (up hill back was a good workout) beautiful views of coast including Pebble Beach course. Stayed one night but it was marvelous.

Met and stayed as a weekend celebration with family from across the nation. Stayed here because other hotel we would have preferred was full. Cozy feel with the courtyard and historic building. Staff was helpful. Nice that parking was included since the streets are full and parking is hard to find. Overpriced for what is provided. Room was drab and...

Dear DukieJD, Thank you for staying with us at L'Auberge Carmel. I am sorry that your experience did not match the product of the Hotel. The rooms here can be on the cozy side as this was a historic apartment building and we did not do a lot structural modifications to preserve the essence of the property. Rooms are about...

Absolutely exquisite ambiance and impeccable personable service permeates this gorgeous vintage hotel. The ambiance alone is worth the visit, as this is truly in a class by itself. We had the most peaceful tea in the spectacular courtyard far from the maddening crowds thronging through Carmel this weekend of our visit. The service absolutely impeccable and engaging in the most...

This is a great small hotel in the wonderful village of Carmel. Staff is very helpful and polite. Rooms are spacious but a bit old and noisy, this didn't bother me however. The hotel is located close to the beach and centre of the village. When you go to Carmel this id a must go!
