Great location in the heart of Carmel. It has the potential to be awesome if some money was put into it to upgrade and redecorate the guest rooms. Despite all this, there is a certain charm about the hotel, a quaintness.

Checked in and was told our room wasn't ready yet but we would be contacted by phone when it was. Returned 2 hours later to find room ready but no-one had bothered to phone us. Front desk gave impression we were lucky to be staying there...... Room nice and clean, well equipped but expected that for the price of the... More

We were planning on staying in Carmel for two days, but one night at the atrocious Pine Inn was more than enough. We got there about 8:00 PM and the supposed free parking was already filled. We were told to find a spot on the street and that we would be okay until the morning when we would have to... More

Good Morning, I want to respond to this guest for the benefit of all future guests. First and foremost, the bad odor was from a break in a sewer line that was discovered right around the time this guest checked in. We called for repairs the very next morning. Secondly, the Pine Inn has a bell person on duty all... More

I realise Carmel by the sea is a unique spot but I can't stand hotels that act as if you should feel lucky to pay them to stay there. I booked months ago and could only get a small room with queen bed. No elevator to the Second floor and no air conditioning. When I asked if other rooms were... More

Found this Inn online and reserved it based on location and price. Spent the first three nights of a seven day vacation. The Good--Historic Inn--small room but very well appointed. Very clean. Excellent location, Right in the Carmel Village and easy walking distance to shops and restaurants. The Bad--No coffee in room. No ice machine--need to order from bell service.... More

I stay at the Pine Inn every time I come to Carmel. For location, convenience and price, it simply can't be beat. I've stayed at other places around town and spent more (sometimes a LOT more), but really don't feel like I enjoyed anywhere as much as I do here. I typically request room 44, which is a corner room... More

This is a fun, old-fashioned hotel right on Ocean Avenue, the main street in Carmel. We thoroughly enjoy the atmosphere and feel of this property. The accommodations are comfortable and up to date, yet warm and welcoming. Every time we visit Carmel, we secure a room at the Pine Inn. During the week days, a tasty buffet breakfast is included... We stayed at Pine Inn this past week. Room 28 to be exact. For one there is only twenty parking spaces for 49 rooms so be prepared to pack your bags up and down the streets of Carmel. Next, we get up to our room on the third floor (no elevator either) and our room door was slanted and had... More

Best breakfast for the price. Eggs, bacon, yogurt, fresh fruit, etc. Even if you're not staying at the hotel this is a must. $10.00 per person and sit back to enjoy a wonderful breakfast in a beautiful setting. Hint: try to get a table in the sun room.
