This property isn't going to be a stunner but it's wonderfully located, convenient in town in lovely Carmel and has lots of history and heritage. If you're looking for luxury and a five-star experience head to Spanish Bay or really break the bank and go to Post Ranch Inn or

We have travelled all over the world for years, and we found The Cypress Inn to be one of the most charming hotels. It is located in the heart of Carmel-by-the-Sea and walking distance to restaurants, shops, the beach, and the San Carlos Mission. It is also a short driving

Delivered exactly what we hoped, and then some more! We brought our Sheltie, Angus, and we were delighted to be able to take him everywhere. He was never left alone and we made so many doggie friends along the way.

Our son stayed in a room that was incredibly noisy. He is never a complainer but could hear the kitchen and then noise downstairs late into the night. The parking is street parking, and it is for 2 hours. We had to move our car several times in our stay. Finally, if we had to

Had a wonderful and relaxing New Year's Eve at the Cypress Inn. The room was great and our 4 month old tea cup poodle had a wonderful time meeting other dogs and their pleasant owners. My wife and I are definitely going back soon.

Are there guest rooms where cats are not allowed?
I didn’t see any cats either but then I imagine that if there are any they probably wouldn’t have liked being in the common area with all the dogs. I’d also call the Inn and ask.

The hotel is set downtown but does have grass/trees all around. Off-site is literally 3 meters Their sister hotel is Lamp Lighter is also dog friendly. They are dog friendly and have some rooms with private patios/small yard. Cypress is amazing.

I stayed at the Cypress with a dog, but the place is extremely clean and not at all kennel-like. In my opinion, the dogs add to the charm of the place, but it is wonderful without a dog. The dogs are not all over the furnishings, however they are around the bar area and sometimes the outside area of the restaurant. It's an upscale place- impeccably clean and well-run- there would never be dog poop anywhere - ever.
