The hotel is in an old building, with a nice atmosphere. Beautiful sea view. Friendly girl at the reception. Room cost started at 170 soles, we kept bargaining until we got one for 82 soles for a double room, with breakfast and TV. The room was ok but there was no hot water in the shower, and in the morning there was no water left at all. It ran out in the middle of my boyfriend’s shower.
We are vegans, so we tried to negotiate our breakfast and in the end got one apple, one pear, a bowl of white rice and tea. We didn’t get the promised juice or vegetables with rice.
On the bright side, they had a ping pong table and we spent the evening playing.
As usual in Peru - they try to charge you as much as they can and deliver little.

I just went there to have a coffee because some of my friend recommended me the hotel for the view.
The hotel has indeed an amazing view on the sea and the swimming pool is relatively new.
But the rest of the hotel shows a total lack of investment. No furniture at all which makes it cold. It's a pity because it's huge and could be an amazing place.
I would recommend it though but just during the day, to enjoy the view and the beach.
The staff is really full of good will but really poorly trained.

I stayed here for 1 night on the way from Nazca to Arequipa, and it was perfectly adequate. The hotel is located on the sea front, I stayed here in winter and it was ok but I can imagine that it would be beautiful in the summer. There is a pool which overlooks the shore which I think is only in use in the summer.
My room was massive, I had a double bed for one person, there were also chairs and a table and a back door out to the swimming pool terrace as I was on the ground floor. It was nice to have such a large room. The rooms can technically be accessed from the street as the corridors are open and back onto the car park (which is usually open), but it didn't feel unsafe as you could triple bolt the door.
We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel, which was ok but nothing spectacular. I especially thought that the breakfast was lacking, you could have tea/coffee etc. and they brought bread rolls with butter and jam to the table, but for anything extra e.g. eggs you had to pay.
Overall I would recommend this hotel as the rooms are lovely and the swimming pool terrace is fantastic. Chala is very small and the hotel is quite central so location wise it's great too.
