It is far from away from PARO CITY. Only plus point about this hotel is location. Other things are not upto the mark at all. Service, food quality, behaviour of staff is very very average considering it is service industry.

We stayed for 3 days in Pelri cottage at Paro and it was worst experience...hotel staff and a lady at reception is extremely rude and unfriendly. Rooms are pathetic. Bathroom fittings are not at all in good condition....no hot water....staff do not know “h” of hospitality. no electricity....no backup...for one night we slept without heater in such a cold climate

I was wondering how most reviews were bashing such a magical place. I think everyone missed the point. First of all, the cottage i was being shown to was of a simple but cosy decor. The cottage is currently undergoing major upgrading and renovation but that didn't bother me at all. Toilet was clean and the shower could use some major rework. But those were the amenities i couldn't care less because the grand scheme of things there was to unwind and disconnect from whatever you think you knew. You want to be there at this specific cottage simply because it's the only one with the million dollar view. The service crew was splendid as the new owner stepped up the game in this industry. I was very well taken care of throughout. Step out to the balcony and your heart will skip a beat. Take a deep breath and exhale slowly... get your heart rate back in pace and let the whole majestic mountain register. If natural therapeutic sounding insects scare the living crap out of you, i suggest you stay faraway from this magical kingdom of natural wonders and beings. I have 3 yellow baby butterflies playing catch right around my balcony, guard dogs with the curliest furs sniffing around the grass for their daily mineral intake before they lay down in plain sight infront of my yard for a nap. Yes it happened. Pelri Cottage, I will be back again.

Pelri cottages was even worse than the internet reviews suggested. Stray dogs roamed around the rooms and even entered the kitchen. Horrible food, dirty and tasteless, was the norm. Rooms were not cleaned until we pleaded time and again with the staff. Bath towels and linen were wet and dirty. One cleaning staff mopped up our bathroom floor with a bath towel!! There was a power cut for one whole night and we were left literally out in the cold. There was no one at reception to take care of the situation. The next morning at 5 a.m., when I went to search for the missing staff, I was attacked by four dogs. I only managed not to get injured because one of our drivers helped me. The staff were asleep in their room and did not emerge even after we pleaded with them. Pelri hotels should have their license revoked permanently. If Bhutan is heaven on Earth, Pelri cottages is Hell on Earth.

Located on a hill top, the cottages are neat and clean. Apart from this, there is nothing else in this hotel. The staff are not trained. The front desk is closed during the night and there is no one to attend to any emergency or requirement. I had to go searching for someone to help me with power outage in my cottage. Hot water is a luxury and you need to wait for hours to get it. Food is average. Overall its not value for money and certainly avoidable.

Cottages are very cute, independent. Spectacular view of a hill/s from the cottage balcony. Going to the dining hall may be daunting for senior people due to uneven terrain. Food prices are higher than normal. Limited variety in food choice. Staff are very courteous.

We stayed at Pelri Cottage last month. The stay was plagued with 100s of issues, which many other tourists have pointed out. The resort itself is quite scenic with a wonderful view of Paro Valley. I am not big on nitpicking so won't go into these issues, however they do need to work on the food and service big time. Personally, we didn't have any issues with the room or plumbing as such. The food was quite bad though and we decided to opt for other cafes and hotels in Paro city after having it the first day here.

Very disappointing indeed. We stayed there for 1night.Initially it appeared fabulous but gradually we understood the negative points enumerated as under:- 1. The hotel/resort is under staffed. 2. The rooms are very cramped. No space to open 2 suitcases. 3. The electrical charging points are located below behind a heavy wooden table making it extremely difficult to charge the mobile phones. 4. In the late evening there was load shedding. It was very dark inside the room. After a while could find two candles in the room, thought perhaps it is a regular feature, called the reception to send a matchbox. Received no response. 5. There were plenty of dogs...adults and puppies hovering over the rooms. .making it extremely difficult to venture out of the room in the dark. 6. Late in the night a few guests arrived. ..complaining about the rooms offered to them as they had no water. On the whole it was a bad experience.

We were booked in by our agent, for 4 nights, he assured it would be good. When we checked in, they showed a cottage at the extreme end, lots of walking.. We wanted to be near reception! So they gave us a room near reception. We told agent we want out from this property as it looked very badly maintained & there were only 2 girls to do service for the entire property. There was no water throughout the property! Agent said he would shift us next day! Was small, with cold wind coming in through the window cracks. Was a cold day at 4 degrees, the puny heater they gave was doing a bad job, they managed an extra blanket. The bathroom was terrible, water was pooling everywhere, on a cold day, you don't want to get into cold puddles! Was a difficult night! A group checked in, there was chips, no water, cold or hot :) the whole group wanted to check out, they somehow pacified the group. Next day breakfast was equally chaotic, service was slow, food below expectation... Will not recommend it, will not stay again.
