We stayed at Rema Resort for 3 days and had the best time. From the moment we checked in, we were lost in the sheer beauty of the resort and it’s location. Our room overlooked the river and the beautiful Paro valley. The staff was courteous and upon chatting with the owner, we got to know that a lot do what we eat is grown at the resort - a true farm to table experience. The rooms have no plastic water bottles which is a great step towards sustainability and being mindful towards the environment. Also got some pretty paintings as souvenirs which will remind us of our lovely time in Rema and Paro forever! Thank you!
I stayed at the resort for a night, the rooms were cosy, bath was decent and food was average. The only thing that got me excited was a 70/100 ltr geyser in the room, that ensured that you got hot water when you needed it. The wifi was average. Breakfast was very average, with bread, cereals, eggs and poha on offer. However as we had gone in the off season, the hotel was empty and the staff was clueless about anything. (Our driver told us that they were temporary staff, trained during the off season) Over all an average stay in Paro.
Pros: Resort was beautiful and the staff was also very helpful. Wooden rooms were amazing and we liked the heater mattress concept. It was very neat and clean. Morning Tea was amazing! Cons: Resort was far from city and there was nothing to do in the evening. We did not like the food, it was very spicy despite giving instructions not to make it spicy at all.
People who are pure vegetarian and don’t eat eggs may have a problem while having breakfast Because they make the eggs in the same room where they serve breakfast It’s suffocating plus people who don’t eat eggs may not like the smell of eggs Also there are not much options for vegetarians in breakfast. In our breakfast they served cornflakes milk juice and Upma only and tea coffee milk
It was the views from my cottage room overseeing the valley of Paro that made the Remarks Resort my favorite hotel in Bhutan. Oh how I miss that room with those views. The beds had heat warmers which was great to arrive to after hiking in the chilly weather. The hotel restaurant was ok for dinner but I found the breakfast better during my 2 day stay in Paro. And once again, the views from the restaurant was amazing. After completing my Tiger's Nest hike, all I wanted to do was sit outside my room in the balcony and just read before sunset. And then see the valley light up and the fort stand out was lovely. My stay was the perfect way to end a lovely visit to Bhutan.
We can't understand those negative comments that were given in some of the ratings. We had a wonderful stay in the Rema Resort. Wonderful location, lovely rooms and cordial service. Also the Spa area and service was very nice.
Bhutan and Paro in general are delightful: clean, fresh air, beautiful views and charming people. The Rema Resort is well situated just outside Paro, elevated over the valley and within earshot of the babbling river. The buildings are characterful and in good order, the rooms are large and simply furnished and, wonderfully, have excellent functioning bathrooms, and the staff are immensely helpful and charming. We managed to persuade the restaurant to provide Bhutanese food which was better and more interesting than the somewhat bland stuff provided for Westerners. The bar was comfortable and fun and, in addition to Western brands, had local whiskies, gins etc. The spa was excellent: we had a couples massage after some trekking and it was excellent. All in all, a very happy and enjoyable stay in a decent hotel.…
Food is pathetic. The breakfast is not hot, and half cooked. We ended up eating outside instead of hotel. The dinner is also below average. the rooms are simply fantastic. the view and sitout balcony is stress relieving. it has a small stream or rivulet running outside the hotel. And it has calming effect. stay here for room. And dont take meal options. I rate it overall very good only on account of property.
It is simply amazing... A place where you can breathe the fresh air and view the greenery from the closest.. Flowers and apple trees are all around and its something which is worth watching and relaxing.. I simply had an amazing experience and the staff is very friendly too... Thank you Bhutan for giving us the best place of visit which is PARO..
