We stayed at Rema Resort for 3 days and had the best time. From the moment we checked in, we were lost in the sheer beauty of the resort and it’s location. Our room overlooked the river and the beautiful Paro valley. The staff was courteous and upon chatting with the owner, we got to know that a lot do what we eat is grown at the resort - a true farm to table experience. The rooms have no plastic water bottles which is a great step towards sustainability and being mindful towards the environment. Also got some pretty paintings as souvenirs which will remind us of our lovely time in Rema and Paro forever! Thank you!

I stayed at the resort for a night, the rooms were cosy, bath was decent and food was average.
The only thing that got me excited was a 70/100 ltr geyser in the room, that ensured that you got hot water when you needed it.
The wifi was average.
Breakfast was very average, with bread, cereals, eggs and poha on offer.
However as we had gone in the off season, the hotel was empty and the staff was clueless about anything. (Our driver told us that they were temporary staff, trained during the off season)
Over all an average stay in Paro.

A pity that my stay was only for one night. A great location, with a view over the Paro valley and the Dzong, a room with a separate terrace and all needed for a pleasant stay.: coffee corner, treated water, which is safe to drink, comfortable bed .
This place is within walking distance of the main street in town, some 25 minutes walking.
We had dinner in the hotel and we got many different dishes of vegetables, red rice and who wanted, chicken or beef. All very tasty.
The staff was very helpful when I had difficulty connecting to the internet.
Would have stayed here several days if possible.

Tip: Try to stay at least two nights, and ask for a room in the row with the view. They have a spa too, plan to have some time there.

Rema resorts is a terrible place, shouldn’t even be called a resort. I am right there on 31st Dec 22 and feel like a prisoner. My booking was through Makemytrip (MMT) unfortunately, they have lost credibility as a holiday planner, at the most, booking agent would be more appropriate defining term. No one minds paying extra margin to a holiday planner so long as it plays the role.
Pl review and reconsider MMT as a holiday planner and Rema as a night shelter.
Key points of Rema:
Place 3/5
Room 2/5
Staff 2/5
Food 1/5
Courtesies 1/5
Attitude 1/5

Key points of Makemytrip MMT
Communication: Too much
Effective communication: Nil
Follow up for simple matters: Too much
Response: Ineffective
Charge and margin: Disproportionate to the delivery

Dear guest we are so sorry that you did not have a pleasant stay with us , but we actually want to know about what was wrong with your stay with us. on your above comment we have not seen a single clear justification why we are worth a single start . was it with our rooms? was it the hotel as a general ? if you give us a clear view then we will know where the problem is. Did you book some a premium package and you got a normal package . we are more confused as you have not left any feedback with us . is it a case that you are not happy with your travel planner and you are dragging us in it .

Rema resort has staff that stands out from other hotels in terms of their punctuality, politeness and helpful attitude across the clock. The room we stayed in was right beside the river and the sound of flowing water was very soothing to sleep to. Amenities were on point and the decor was cosy with hand-painted walls. Food was excellent in their on-site restaurant and a sumptuous display of dishes always greeted us for meal times. Staff makes sure to check in and plan ahead in terms of personalised details such as packed breakfast for travellers with their guides heading out early. In the evenings, one can head out for a walk and sit by the river or amble into Paro town which is a short walk away.

Wonderful place and amazing staff. The rooms are spacious, the resort is on a small hillock and the views are mesmerizing. They have a small restaurant and they have a decent breakfast spread. The staff is always helpful to make your stay pleasant and ensure that you get the most of the stay. Certainly visiting again.

Rema resort is located excellently, over looking a river with a spa, restaurant and a bar that offer great views. The rooms are well designed and spacious. The restaurant offers local bhutani cuisine and the buffet offers a mix of Indian, local and continental options. The food is tasty. The spa is good and the special feature is the hot stone bath. The staff is well trained and they are always smiling.

This peaceful, traditional beautifully appointed place was the first and last place I stayed on my trip to Bhutan. It overlooked the Paro Valley and I could sit forever in the gardens relaxing. The restaurant and bar were both inviting and the food delicious. I went to the spa and had not one but two Bhutanese massages and a hot stone bath. The restaurant surprised me with a cake and song on my birthday. The staff was king and warm and the owner made a point of welcoming me and making sure I was comfortable and happy. . I loved this stay and would not only recommend the resort to others but would return there myself.

Bhutan is otherwise a pretty honest, straight forward and no nonsense destination where people, although a little frozen, are very truthful about everything and say it on your face if they feel something about you.

This is the only place where i came about a very dishonest people. I had booked the hotel a month back from my date of arrival. Even five days before my arrival i got an SMS that my booking is confirmed. But the day i arrived i was turned away saying that i had no booking with them. It ruined my holiday and i had to spend some anxious moments because of it.

Later on i came to know from my driver(a localite) that some Germans came at the last moment and booked rooms at very high price. And this resort does it often, turn away prebooked customers if they find better paying ones.

Avoid this resort if you do not want to face anxious moments and humiliation.

Response from tshering1, General Manager at Rema Resort
Responded 20 Jun 2017
Greetings from rema resort, well i am really aware of what happen , you have made a booking from booking .com and shows us an invoice from make my trip which is totally unacceptable , secondly we have mailed you our terms and condition, is that before 14 days of arrival you need to pay us we waited till the 10th day and still no response from you. we cannot assure any booking without payment as we are running a business not a charity , well you should be thankful to us as during that time if I can just say "you did not pay and your rooms got canceled ," my part is done . still then i took the time to call other hotels and manage you an accommodation well you seems to be frustrated to see all other guest , yes they got rooms because they paid on time, as per you you are informed by the local diver who have no idea of the situation and who dont know a single idea on how to run a hotel? well that do not make a sense . WELL ANY WAYS I GUESS THIS IS HOW YOU THANK A PERSON WHO SOLVED YOUR PROBLEM EVEN THOUGH IT IS NOT HIS PROBLEM, AND i remind you next time if you book a hotel make sure to read their policy all the hotels do not have the same policy.

The food is made by schef it's tasty but you have to book for every day because the hotel is far away from any nearby village and with a very bad still soil narrow road to reach ...and of course it's expensive!
