Our trip to Bhutan was short and memorable. We were submerged in the kindness of the people, the taste of the food and the mesmerizing beauty of the people and the country. All these could also be found in a single place and that's here. Wake up early and go outside your cozy room and you will find breath taking scenic beauty peace and quite. Walk into the office and you will find people ready to greet you with smiling bright faces. The people working in the Lodge will make you so comfortable that you would feel like home. And then you have Mr. Jigme Tsering, one of the most humble man we ever met. I stayed here with my family and am sure anyone travelling solo or with friends will find this place even more cozy. Best View is at 6 am in the morning, Clouds just finished brushing off the last bit of snow on the trees up above the mountain leaving them drenched in the slow, with nothing but birds and nature to let you have the peaceful time that you have long awaited.

Thank you so much for your kind words. It was great to have you as our guest. Given that Bhutan has been closed to tourism since March 2020 till date, we are optimistic that Bhutan would open to tourism in the coming month. Over this two year period, we have been very proactively improving the facilities on our lodge and we look forward to welcoming you all back again for a special experience. We look forward to your next visit. Cheers.

It was delightful! Lively yet peaceful, their space was amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed their dinner. Loved the rooms with their wooden floor.. huge beautiful windows. It is just a little far away from Paro main town which might be a problem for some. It was great for me!

My daughter and I stayed at this lovely place for 3 nights. The rooms are spacious, clean with traditional decor and wooden floors. The view from the room was breathtaking with a dense forest within walking distance. The breakfasts were delicious when we had them. The staff including the manager were very helpful with whatever questions we had. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely return to this resort if we visit Bhutan again.

3 of us spent a night on our way back to India. Prior to staying at Nirvana, we had stayed for 5 nights in 4/5 star hotels (Paro, Punakha and Thimphu) as we had our parents with us. We wanted to experience a home stay (or closer to it) once our parents left and decided on Niravana for our last night in Bhutan. As we approached the last leg of our journey, I was a bit apprehensive. By then I had gotten used to star hotels and the luxury. After having frantically looked at Nirvana’s reviews, I was unsure if I had made the right decision. But decided to go ahead despite some scathing reviews. I am glad I did. The property is located away from the city and they don’t claim otherwise. It is 4 kms away from Kyichu Lhakhang and a few kms away from the Tiger’s Nest base. The directions provided along the way is helpful and the property is fairly easy to find. Yes the approach is rocky but it is not as uncomfortable as other users made it sound on TripAdvisor. Nirvana is a beautiful property surrounded by pine trees and mountains. The night sky is magical. Cabs can be arranged if you want to go to the market. Or you could simply walk to the main road and find taxis easily. Room - We stayed in Family Delux and it was amazing. The room was spacious, clean and with great views. The room comes with a water kettle, room heater and a geyser. The room heater made the stay more comfortable. The geyser takes a while to heat up but does the job reasonably well. They had even kept three bathroom slippers for us! Simple gesture but thoughtful. In our case the reviews of other users was misleading. Please read management comments carefully. They are honest. If still in doubt, please call them and clarify. Food - We had the best meal of our trip at Nirvana. Food was simple and homely. They even make it to your taste. Our preference was Jain. Overall, We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and without a doubt say that it was better than our stay in Le Meridien, Thimphu where everything was a let down. For fraction of the cost, Nirvana gave us a hint of Bhutan in its truest form - without frills but loads of happiness. Nirvana Lodge and Homestay has my highest recommendation. I wish we had stayed a night more...

Dear Narasimhan, Thank you so much for the wonderful feedback. We are very happy that your had a nice experience at our property - true bhutanese hospitality in a property surrounded by nature. As mentioned, we are on the outskirts of the Paro valley (about 5 km away from the city and about 3 km to the Tigers Nest). Surrounded in a three acre apple orchard, we provide simple facilities, but have been continuously upgrading. We now have 32" flat screen TV with cable networks in all our 11 deluxe rooms and are in the process of upgrading our 4 standard rooms. In addition, we will be having a archery and dart activity area, and will also set up a hot stone bath and spa in the coming year. I would like to sincerely thank you for taking the time to read the review and comments by other guest, and for setting the record correct. There are a few individuals that provide misleading comments about our property and truly appreciate how you have highlighter "our honesty" on our response of the service and facilities provided by us. We look forward to welcoming you back soon. Please do let us know when you visit Bhutan again so that we could meet in person and catch up for a coffee :) Thank you once again.

I stayed for two days at Nirvana lodge. It was very comfortable. My room was big and had wooden floor with lots of light. I liked the sound of birds in the early morning. Food was good and staff was homely and friendly. The big open space outside was good for a quiet peaceful walk.
