I had booked this through makemytrip months back and paid in full as well. I called the property a day back while in Bhutan to explore an early check in. To my shock, I was told by the lady ( the reservation lady) that she has rejected all online confirmations. I was told that she will get back after speaking with MMT. I called frantically but never even got a call back. Zero customer experience. Zero conscience. A dont care callous attitude. Probably must have received a bulk booking that is more lucrative and would have cancelled a few un-important ones like mine. Less said the better !! Pathetic experience !
We spent a night in this Hotel. Amazing Hotel with breathtaking views and an excellent Restaurant. People are so kind. I wish we could visit again. Wake up early in the morning and taking a walk will give you a heavenly feeling.
We didn’t like this hotel. The overall quality of hotels in Bhutan is low, be prepared. An upgrade to a 4 or 5 stars hotel is recommended. They gave us a room humid and full with mould at first, we had to insist so they changed us. At the restaurant they serve a buffet of Bhutanese food what we could not eat because we are coeliac so we wanted to order a la carte but they said it would take time (as we were in a rush...) we again had to insist so we ordered a french fries and roast chicken ... big disaster!
Very good place to stay Good room and room service. Good food Good and helpful staff. Staff is flexible aa well. Good SPA facilities Highly recommended Good place to commute to nearby attractions Loved it. View of Valley is also beautiful to keep watching.
We spent a night at Dewachen since the hotel we were previously booked in was overbooked. The view from the hotel is fabulous. However the room allocated to us were more than simply rundown. It also seems that the hotel was undergoing renovation. The food at the hotel's restaurant was nice too. The rooms were the only cons of this hotel. Maybe once renovated, they may turn out to be good.
This resort is located close to the airport and our rooms actually overlooked the runway, which was great! Flight noise is minimal, as the hours are restricted and flights are only a few a day. I found the rooms large, comfortable and clean and the restaurant food was outstanding!
When you enter the room you will be mesmerized! The view is just stunning. Yes, the bathroom is max 3 stars (our shower started to flood after few minutes) and the breakfast is boring. Dinners were not bad. But that view is unbeatable!
Stayed in March 2019. Really nice hotel run by friendly people. Nice room with wooden floor, traditional ambiance, good beds, modern bathroom. There's also a powerful electric heater in the room. And as a bonus, a small balcony with the best view over the valley, also lying in your bed you can overlook the valley. Really quiet stay, about 5 minutes drive from the Paro center (taxi is cheap), no dogs barking at night nearby (as you have downtown). And a great restaurant, with also the same view, wood burning stove, and good food. Recommended!
The Dewachen Resort has incredible views of the Paro valley and it’s a great place to watch the gorgeous sunrises from. The place is currently undergoing an extensive renovation so will be even more comfortable in the future. The rooms arr spacious with comfortable beds but the renovation will certainly benefit the bathrooms. The restaurant also has great views and they can make a really decent spread of Bhutanese dinner. It’s quite a walk from the center of Paro though so unless you really like to walk, you will be depending on transportation.
Of the eight three star hotels we stayed in during our Bhutan trip, this was the least favorite of our group. The views are wonderful, and the food great. However, the lighting is dim in the rooms and the bathroom curtains had mold on them.
