The property is right in Paro city and walking distance form the market area as well as the taxi stand.
very cooperative staff run by few elderly ladies. Kitchen serves decently good tasting food and breakfast is good too. They have good parking space. Room has wooden interiors and flooring and view from window is simple and very serene

Located in a quite area, 5-6 minutes walk from Paro town, it is the best option; Triple bed with attached bath comes within Rs. 1500.00.. The property is old but well maintained including its specious restaurant. Rooms have windows with nice views of mountains. You are required to order the meal in advance. Otherwise, there are several eating joints in the town (5-7 minutes walk). Staff is helpful and provide the service with a smile. During peak season, rooms are always sold out; so book in advance. There is parking space too. Recommended while in Paro.

We had booked 3 rooms for 2 nights two months in advance. Yet when we reached the hotel after a tiring journey from Phuentsholing to Paro, we were very casually told that they had overbooked and our rooms were given to guests on first come first serve basis. The manager, Tsering, had the audacity to tell us that she had double-booked 7 rooms. However, she was considerate enough to make provisions in a neighbouring hotel - Hotel KK - for one night. Since there were water problems in KK, we decided to shift back to Phunsum for the second night. They have a very weird policy of one towel per room. When asked for extras, the staff, a new arrogant recruit threw a fit and started saying this isn't allowed. Plus she gave us some stupid guidelines on not spoiling the bedsheets and towels. Yea, like we were 3 year old's on our own! When we went down to the reception to complain, that same girl kept provoking us for no reason and kept daring us to go and complain. Ridiculous behaviour I say. Tsering was co-operative enough to understand the situation and tried handling it while this girl kept giggling in the corner. Reason given for her behaviour was that she was new and they didn't have time to brief her. I wonder if she needed briefing even on basic human courtesy. Food delay was another whole issue.
Rooms were OK, nothing exceptional, however the exterior and lobby were quite inviting.
I don't want to recommend this place to anyone.

We like the hotel as its just out skirt of the town with very beautifully decorative Bhutanese traditional paintings. The hotel is very simple and logically design to suit traditional heritage and culture of Bhutan. Guest rooms are warm and homely and same we found with restaurant and bar quite and cozy. Foods delicious and one can choose from multi cuisine menu. Last but not the lest we remember Mena (house keeper) the most and rest of the staff polite and helpful.

We stayed here for 3 days and it was quite pleasant experience. As usual, due to off season we were the only guests staying here.

They didn't had room heaters but room blowers which is great but it comes at Nu. 300 per night. Though after bargaining they agreed for Nu. 200/- per night but in the end they didn't charged anything for room blowers.

You can view the majestic Paro Dzong at night from the front view rooms.

WiFi was available but as there were no other guests they didn't recharged it.

We had breakfast and dinner there at Restaurant and service and food quality is quite good.

I'd rate it a 5* considering the VFM and the services offered. Just opposite the hotel, we came across few kids with whom we spend the evening playing various games in the evening.

We reached Hotel Phunsum, to find that the manager had overbooked the hotel and there were no rooms available. (we had three rooms booked for two nights). She was however courteous and organized our stay for the first night in another hotel close by. However the other hotel did not have adequate beds and for one room a bed was put on the floor. Also there was barely any water in this hotel. The next day we moved back to Phunsum. The staff is extremely rude. Refuse to give towels. In fact created a shouting scene in the corridors when towels were requested. The rule was one towel an room irrespective of the number of people occupying it. We ordered dinner. One hour later we were told the cook does not know how to prepare a dish we picked form the menu. Dishes they then picked for us took a further half hour to arrive. The manager's response is, these things keep happening. What can we do; while the staff stands and giggles.

While the hotel is built beautifully with ethnic designs and paintings, the location is lovely, the attitude and rudeness of the staff was a complete turn off. I will for sure not be visiting them again.

We got motivated to stay in this hotel due to its low price and the photographs of the property. Specially we saw the BATHTUB. However, this hotel is not very beautiful. It is not maintained properly and has NO LIFT. Most shockingly it has NO INTERCOM. The rooms are small and squeaky. The TV is analogue. Plug points are in sufficient. The cloths, curtains, pillows, blankets all are spotty and dirty. Cupboards are not there. Toiletries are not good. No shower. Bathtubs look OLD. All rooms are not similarly equipped. The food is so and so just EDIBLE if you can tolerate the quality. Good thing is that there is NO BEEF and NO PORK too. Cost of FOOD is also LOW. The only good thing about the HOTEL is that it is in the PARO City area and the PARO city area is accessible from here.
Be warned that this HOTEL is only good for you if you are seriously looking for a CHEAP HOTEL and you can compromise on QUALITY for a CHEAP STAY.

Prefer this hotel only if you are on tight budget. The rooms are small, no cupboards, no elevators . Its an old property , but the staff is helpful and cheerful. The heaters are chargeable. The big plus point on this property its walking distance from main market and Dzong is hardly 1.5KM. Its has more of lodge feeling

Yes. The hotel is in the midst of the town itself. For the prices please give them a call @ +975-77290274. July being lean season it should not be more than Rs. 1200/- with a double bed room. Consider Rs. 300/- extra for one extra mattress or one triple bed room.
