Spent 5 days here. Lovely rooms, helpful staff. Very well run excursions. Luis was a great hike guide. David ran a professional and safe zip line tour. The food was simple but there was lots of variety. Eco the dog was amazing. Don't expect the 4 seasons, but if you are looking for peaceful relaxation in a lovely friendly surrounding,...

My boyfriend and I stayed here for three nights in February, 2014. The room was HUGE and the shower was big enough for a family! There are some gaps between the boards and you can easily hear what is going on in the cabins around you. The bed was comfortable and the sheets were clean (old, but clean). The porch...

This vacation we started with Blue Rivers resort in the hills beside Ricon de la Vieja volcano. Overall we were very happy with this choice for a number of reasons. As this was the first time we have been to Costa Rica we needed a few days to get used to the heat and recover from the journey here. Blue...

I visited Blue River Resort with my parents for 3 nights in March. We had a fantastic time at the resort and are very happy that we visited Rincon area prior to hitting up the beach. It gave our 1 week trip a great balance. Cabins - Our room was comfortable and very spacious for 3 people. It had an...

Just returned from Blue River to the US. What a shock of a trip. Some of what I'm about to say will be obvious and was definitely my fault for poor planning, but I'm saying it anyway because I want to save other people unnecessary stress. Also, it's a beautiful place and I wish I had calmed down earlier and...

Spent a couple nights at Blue River and thought I'd put in a review. First, the road in isn't that bad - paved most of the way - and really well signed. The last 28 km are typical Costa Rican dirt road - but we'd seen far worse in the Nosara and Monteverde area. The resort itself was less than...

A bit disappointed when my husband and I arrived. The natural thermal pools were very cloudy and not very inviting. The sauna was gross, cramped and felt dirty. The rooms were nice, huge bathroom, clean but the single pillow on the bed was small and too soft, no support in them. When I asked for extra pillows I got one...

Nature, flowers, frogs, colibri, butterflies, all these things very beautiful....The Spa swimming polls, very hot and sanitizing......the Blue River there is only one word to describe this river:.....WOOOOOOOOW. I've never seen another river like this!!!

This is my second visit and I'm sorry that it was another short one. Even in 2 days you can relax and enjoy the natural beauty of the resort - located on the slopes of a remote volcanic region in northern Costa Rica. The natural hot springs provide multiple large bathing pools and - if you're ore adventurous - the...

"We originally planned to stay at Blue River for 7 days, but quickly realized that there was not enough to do at the resort to occupy us for 7 whole days. On top of that , the restaurant and anything else being sold at the resort was completely overpriced. Our first night we spent $70 for two at dinner. All...
