We stayed for one night at the Captain's Cove while driving on the pacific coast highway from San Francisco to LA. The room was clean, well furnished and ideal for our stay. All facilities are provided including a microwave, coffee and snacks - though we did not not use any. Car parking is provided and was ideal for our sedan...

The owner is fantastic. After driving all day he had Danish and fruit in the room and was happy to answer questions about the area. The view from the property is amazing. If you are driving on the pacific coast highway I recommend stopping here for the night. Very reasonable in price

Most reasonably priced room on that strip of beach. The rooms are very quiet since they are separated by carports. Be aware that the carports can be considered small and difficult to get in and out of if you have a larger car or truck (if you have a 250 Ford Truck, forget it). Room 1 was clean and had...

Not fancy, but fine nonetheless. Across the street from beautiful Moonstone Beach, we could hear the waves in our room. The room itself had a comfortable bed, fridge, microwave, coffee, double bathroom sinks, and snacks, including pastries, fruit, snack bars. There are places to eat within walking distance. The room had no very ew, but was fairly private with its...

My wife and I stayed here on our trip up Pacific Coast Highway. It is a small, quaint Inn with a nice owner named Dave. While the appointments in the room aren't modern, it was very clean and in great shaped. The bed was comfortable, the room was plenty big, and it even had a recliner to make you feel...

This motel is older but great value for money! The host is very nice and very helpful. Straight across the road from the beach, car part parking between each unit. It's clean, great location, great price.

Each room is divided by an enclosed car port. There are beach chairs for the beach, two restaurant/bars within easy walking distance. David is a great man, full of stories and places to go that are personally used. Small basket of fruit and baked treats from a local bakery, gas fireplace, great bed. Really clean, ketchy place. Highly recommended for...

We drove up HWY 1 from LA to San Francisco and wanted to spend the night near Hurst Castle as we planned to visit there in the morning. We turned off and drove down to Moonstone Beach late afternoon and it was just beautiful. We looked for a room in our budget and was surprised how many of the small...

Stayed here Sep 8 2013 after travelling from Carmel- we were competing with 1200 cyclists who were raising money for Big Buddies organisations along the Big Sur. Then we had to compete again for accommodation. We came across Captain's Cove. Rooms were really quirky, clean and the operator/owner was courteous. He had a wealth of knowledge of the local areas...

We were very comfortable at Captains Cove. The properitor was very helpful and friendly. The inn only has about a half a dozen units. They are unique with each having an ajoining car port. The rooms are spacious, very clean, but a bit out dated, which was not an issue. The inn is right across the street from Moonstone beach...
