Best hotel close to SFO. We’ve stayed at different properties close to the airport, but this one was the best. Great shuttle service-every 15 minutes. Resturant food was delicious. Got to try the pork chop-the best. Jesus and Michael were our servers for lunch and dinner. Both were so personable. Rooms are clean and updated. It’s our go to hotel anytime we fly through SFO.

All in all a great hotel. Everything was up to standards. The breakfast is 20$ per person, kids are free and it is worth it.
Windows open which is disgusting for me when they don’t.

Reason why I am giving it a 4 star, well I thought parking was free, since there is nothing around the area and absolutely no street parking anywhere. Parking costs 15$, management should just include it in the price and not charge extra for it, they are kind of hiding that extra cost. There is no way someone could stay at that location without a car, you’re in the middle of nowhere, just man up and increase the price and make parking free

Anyway, I personally found staying here a lot more relaxing than in SF with the kids and all. It was only 20 min away and I can’t stand parking off site or valet when you have to carry all this baggage.

This hotel is convenient due to it's proximity to the airport. The rooms are spacious. There are a few items to consider. 1) The hotel van runs every 30 minutes which sounds okay until it's 1 AM and you're waiting for 30 minutes. 2) The bathroom in our room was dirty. I don't mean there was a hair on the floor; I mean dirty. The floor was sticky and there was a ring from a container on the floor in front of the sink. It's unpleasant to come into the bathroom during the night and step bare foot on a sticky floor or to come out of the shower and have the floor be sticky. 3) The hotel restaurant has limited hours and service. This is not a huge issue, unless the staff fails to mention this. We were told at check-in at 2 AM that we had a $12 per person breakfast credit. Sounds nice, right? Well when I showed up downstairs at 11 AM, not only was I unable to use the credit for breakfast, but I was unable to use it for anything as the restaurant was closed. 4) I had to pay $5 plus tip for the hotel shuttle back to the airport. The hotel shuttle was complimentary to get me to the hotel from the airport, but was $5 for the ride back to the airport.

We booked doubletree as a block hotel for our wedding. Everything went amazing. The rooms were spacious, breakfast was high quality, and we were welcomed with cookies as well as wine and cheese as the bride and groom. In the wedding block, they included and honored free shuttles from the airport, free parking, free breakfast, and WiFi.

As a long time Hilton Diamond member, I've stayed in many Hilton properties around the country for years. For some reason, Doubletrees seem to be Hilton's most troubled brand. This hotel is no exception. It certainly performs its function if you need a place to stay for a night before or after flying out of SFO, but there are problems.

First, as is often mentioned in these reviews, there is a $5.00 charge per person each way for the airport shuttle. This is a definite negative for what is, after all, an airport hotel and one for which i would imagine the vast majority of its customers are going to and from the airport. It looks like management just decided to offload the shuttle to a separate contracted service which in turn charges since the charge on the credit card goes to a separate company and not to Doubletree. That is a profitable idea for hotel management (no need to buy or lease buses, no need to hire and pay shuttle staff, etc) but not one which is optimal for hotel guests.

The front desk person (at the right hand desk) was abrasive and unfriendly and unhelpful when we checked in. That reflects poor management hiring and training and supervision. Our room was apparently in a separate tower, but all she said, briefly, was "go to the second elevator" before turning away. Naturally we came to the elevators and took the second elevator (of the two) to the fifth floor before discovering that our room number was not on the floor. Back to the first floor, and then after some exploration, realized that we were supposed to go way down the corridor around the corner to a second bank of elevators to get to our room. The desk clerk could not have been less helpful or more unpleasant.

The breakfast buffet is $25.00 a person, too high for what is offered (although the elderly waiter was nice and tried hard).

The room AC was very loud when it came on, disturbingly so.

The soap and shampoo amenities were microscopic in size (again, saving the hotel money but off putting to the guest).

There are literally dozens of SFO airport hotels to choose from, including two other Hilton properties (Embassy Suites and Hilton) within walking distance of the Doubletree. I would suggest choosing another for your SFO hotel needs.

Dear Doubletree, please invest in a deodorizer that can kill cannabis or skunk stench in the hotel. The floor I was staying on had a horrible stench. After complaining, I was advised that they are not sure which guest is causing the problem and they have tried I get eliminate the horrific odor. (Side note... it’s CA where it’s legal, this should not be an issue anymore). Check in was quick and efficient. The room was clean and neat. The bar/restaurant has MINIMAL options. If you want food, you may need to look else where. My stay was ok. I hope you enjoy yours.

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay with us. We always appreciate the feedback. We do apologize for your experience. We did share your comment with our Director of Housekeeping. He is not aware of a product to eliminate Cannabis or skunk order, but will see what he can find online. We are currently operating a minimal F&B operation due to the pandemic, but hope to be able to gradually reopen the facility soon. Thank you again for the review and hope that you understand that this is not typical of our service.

My fiancé and I are from San Diego and came to go to the Giants baseball game, therefore, leisure travelers. This property lacks culture, within service & value, within the rooms and public spaces.

I can understand when investment within the property is only in the hands of corporate/franchise owners. However, it’s clear this is an older hotel and many amenities are neglected. Every leather piece of furniture in the lobby was either cracked or completely torn. The rooms are missing amenity trays and bar soaps “Eco” are the cheap versions. All lamps were dusty and the water pressure is the worst I’ve experienced.

I work at a resort that was built in the 60’s, therefore, we encounter maintenance issues out of our control. What we do, is make up with service. Service is key, especially with dealing with a neglected property. I would like to start with saying this isn’t fully on the staff here, but their management and training. We arrived early morning on day of arrival and inquired about an early check-in in which the agent mentioned is was not possible. She didn’t offer to store our bags, share what we could do until a room was ready, didn’t offer to pre-register us, only that we could “try again after 12.” We came back at 1pm and I stated “I know I booked through Expedia but would I be able to receive my Gold member benefits?” She said no and was hesitant to even give me waters. The next day we encountered an agent with red hair in which my fiancé inquired about airport shuttle times/costs. She was not very helpful and was scrolling on Instagram when he walked up. Lastly, I got to experience Nadia’s extreme lack in wanting to help us use a microwave or answer the questions we had. As I went to the market, she was scrolling on Pinterest in which I’ve attached a photo. I’ve never felt more of an inconvenience going somewhere.

I would either like to speak with the Front Desk Manager or General Manager.

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay at our Hotel. We always appreciate the feedback. I apologize for the experience you had at the front desk and will share your comments with the Front Office Manager. We did want you to know that we are well into the process of beginning the remodel of the public areas. It has been rather challenging due to the economic and shipping delays, but we anticipate beginning very shortly. Once again please accept my apologies concerning your experience and I hope you trust that this is not typical of our service. If you wish to discuss your stay any further you can contact me at michael.mckee@hilton.com or my direct number 650-373-2200.

The hotel was close to SFO and ran a regular shuttle service (every 15 min). This was exactly what I needed and it was a good value for the money. The staff was welcoming and genuinely interested in making sure that I had a good experience. I found my room to very clean and comfortable. I would definitely stay there again.

Shuttle fee of $5 each way needs to be removed. If guest are staying at the property why charge parking fee when you already charge for non guest to “park and fly” they should be the ones paying the $5 shuttle service not the guest. Meals are priced to high for very little and item on menu not available.

Quick access to SFO with a shuttle service and great place for dinner. The restaurant and bar area provide guests with an opportunity to eat great food without having to get out for dinner when you have an early flight. You can return rental cars and take the shuttle to the hotel and then back to the airport the next day.

The Hotel has two towers. The Deluxe rooms are the top floor on the East Tower closest to the Bay. They have bathrobes and upgraded amenities in the bathroom. The Bay view rooms have nice views of the bay and you can watch the airplanes land at SFO. Most of the rooms are quiet, however every know and then do to the wind direction the planes have to take off over the Hotel. This does not happen often, but then the higher floors can be a little noisy. Let us know if you have any other questions.
