We had a great experience with everyone at the hotel. Everyone at the front desk was amazing.
I was disappointed that they only had valet parking but the service the valet provided made it worth it. My kids loved the hotel. They said they want to go back.

This hotel is an excellent value even during the time of Covid. Rooms have been recently refreshed and are well appointed. Free parking has become a rare find in the area. This hotel is far enough from the freeway that you do not have any noise. They have suspended the shuttle to the airport so please be aware of that and make alternate arrangements. The staff do their best to accommodate guests.

Just read the other reviews. No, we didn't get any bites, no we didn't use the laundry, nor the business centre, nor the shuttle. We just wanted a fair priced spot to stay that's close to town and we have had good experiences at other Hampton Inns before.
Specifically about this Hampton Inn that's in Millbrae, it's a very small property, but it was designed to have very efficient use of space. Parking was plenty and free. Fitness centre was small , just one recumbent bike, one treadmill, one elliptical, and free weights (has 5 pounders though!).
Our room was small but again efficient use of space, has an armchair, a bedside table on the far side, 2 queens, two leather ottomons you can sit / put luggage on, one flat low table (that you can put luggage on) _AND_ a luggage rack.
Mini fridge was making a lot of noise, but hey there's a microwave which is a plus. Bathroom looks like a dated design, but clean and in reasonable shape.
Breakfast was decent - prepackaged cereal bowls, milk cartons, whole fruits, oatmeal with 3 types of toppings (brown sugar, dried fruit and almond slices), 3 types of hot items , juices, muffins, bagels, toast, waffle maker x 2, coffee & tea.
No coffee / tea in the lobby but you can make your own in the single coffee maker in the room.
Never heard any noise from flights when we are in our room (But we do hear them when in the parking lot). The elevator is loud so do request a room further away from it if you are a light sleeper.

After a long day of traveling and arriving late into SFO airport, the last thing you want to deal with is the complications with transportation to a hotel. Little did I know the Hampton Inn does not have shuttle service from the airport due to COVID restrictions, although all other hotels are running their shuttle. I wouldn’t have booked this place is I had known. We checked Über and Lyft, and both services were $80-$90 for the quick two mile jaunt to the hotel, and there were no taxis available at the time with about 50 people in line. Frustrated, I called the front desk again, and the employee was actually very friendly and kind and provided some options. I can’t fault him for something he can’t control so I actually gave this review and extra star because he handled the situations very well. I did ultimately chat with him when I checked in and thanked him in person.

The room itself was a bit dated, and you can hear the street and airport noise with the windows shut, so we didn’t sleep very well.

The complimentary breakfast in the morning was decent and I appreciate all the new protocols they are adhering too.

But the lack of shuttle service for a hotel located close to the airport is unreasonable and can easily be fixed if management really cares about customer service. We won’t be staying here ever again.

We were in San Francisco when the city went into lock-down over the Coronavirus. We had flight reservations for Sunday but were anxious to leave ASAP. (on Thursday instead) We had reservations at the The Crowne Plaza but when they tried to increase our rates, we headed down the road and landed here. How fortunate for us because we could not have had a better stay.

The front desk offered us an excellent rate. She explained the breakfast Buffett would be shut down because of the imposed restriction, but bagged breakfast would be available. She also offered us brochures for restaurants that were still opened for delivery or take out for that nights dinners.

The room was large, clean, beds extremely comfortable, and nice in appearance. When our travels next bring us to the SFO area, we will definately return here. Its during difficult times that peoples/companies true colors show. Hampton Inn passed with flying colors!!!!.........Crowne Plaza, NOT SO MUCH!!!!

Rooms are nice, very spacious and seem to be recently updated. Kudos to the housekeeping staff, as my room was exceptionally clean. Huge flat screen TV on a pivoting base was appreciated, but the Hilton TV interface is clumsy and annoying. Be aware that the advertised hotel shuttle bus is not operating. The breakfast was quite good considering COVID-19 rules, and the staff was pleasant and helpful. During check in, I specifically requested a top floor room, but the young man at the front desk ignored my request. So a 4 star rating becomes 3 stars.

Unfortunately I was in a corner room (which was lovely) that was over the front entrance. They play music that is very loud at the entrance and it is clearly heard in the room at night. I complained 3 times (9:45-10:15 pm) after trying to get to sleep (I had an early flight). They told me they couldn’t turn it off or turn it down as it is set digitally and on a schedule. I know he tried, but no way was I going to get to sleep. They agreed to move me “right away”...it took them 20 mins to get me moved down the hall and then I had a good night sleep. Recommend no corner room or one near the entrance.

Stayed here in 2 rooms for 2 days in San Fran. right near highway and 30 min drive into heart of the city.
Pros: no extra parking or "resort" extra daily fees breaking the bank. Close to airport. Great free breakfast with lots of options. Open area with tables for eating breakfast also serves as nice gathering place at night. Hotel is clean (I am very picky about that) and nice. Staff is friendly. Allowed late check out as we had a nighttime flight home.
Cons: noisy, not so much from the airport but if you are on first floor near breakfast it is great that they are cleaning the area a lot but rolling garbage pails on a tile floor is really loud early. Also walls are not that thick so next door, upstairs and hallway noise was pretty loud. Door for bathroom is a barn door that makes a loud noise when rolling it so if you have to move it when others are sleeping you will wake everyone up. Front desk didn't really know any restaurants in the area so we drove around on our own.

A used condom was found beside the bed in my room that I found when I was doing a sweep of the room before checking out. My 3 year old son had stayed in the room with me. I informed the front desk upon checkout and showed them the picture of what was found and was told a manager would contact me. No manager ever contacted me. I called the hotel back directly and was told no refund could be offered for a room that obviously had not been cleaned properly. I am a Diamond member who stays at Hilton properties over 40 nights a year. Do not stay here.

The location is great if you're going to multiple locations in the Bay Area. The facility itself needs some upgrades and I'd say the front desk staff could use a course in friendliness. But my biggest beef was getting charge $5.50 for a 16-oz Direct Coke. Robbery.
