We enjoyed our stay overall. I tried not to expect too much with a small town hotel. The proximity to town and activities nearby were key for us. I was a bit surprised they still used regular keys and not key-cards. The hotel struck me as an older hotel that is trying to make upgrades over time as resources permit....

Thank you for the review no we hoped you enjoyed your stay. Yes, we have been upgrading on a small motel budget, but we did reroof, repaint, and re-asphalt end the driveways this year. We also added photos from a local artist that are just beautiful. We have learned that guests love having the actual key and key tag -...

We stayed 3 nights (Sept, 4-7) at the Walker River Lodge in one of the off-site 2-bedroom FURNISHED apartments (downstairs, #2). We've stayed at the Walker River Lodge many times before, so we knew what to expect. This stay was somewhat disappointing. Upon arrival, I noticed that the kitchen was NOT ADEQUATELY EQUIPPED FOR A FURNISHED APARTMENT; i.e., no dish...

I am so sorry you were disappointed with the off site apartments. I will forward this review on to the manager and maintenance, and this will be addressed immediately. Thank you for the review and I hope you will give us another try in the future.

We came to Bridgeport to visit the ghost town of Bodie....I reserved a suite and a room with a king bed...I was sort of disappointed that the website didn't show pictures or floor plans of these rooms, especially the suite...I assumed it was a living area with two bedrooms....When we walked in the double bathroom sink was to the right....Next...

Thank you for the review. My family has owned the Lodge since 1972, back before Embassy Suites and the Marriotts, that room was considered a suite. We are sorry for the confusion. There is a lock on the screen door, although it is difficult to use, we are trying to find a remedy to the situation.

Probably the nicest place in Bridgeport, we found the rooms to be spacious with DirecTV and king bed and couch. Air conditioning worked well (late summer gets hot there) and good variety of breakfast food available for free.

We needed a place to stay for a few days between hiking trips in Yosemite (no lodging available in the Park). Bridgeport isn't a very big town, Lee Vining is equally small. Walker River Lodge had a king bed, it was quiet, clean and roomy. Just what we needed.

This was a perfect layover spot on our way to Yosemite. Cute small town with very friendly people. Spectacular views to the west (not visible from room) of mountains. the best part of motel was the big law my kids could play on and the small Walker River was adjacent to the property too. I was less impressed with the...

Thank you for the nice review and we are glad your children enjoyed the lawn. We sorry you were disappointed with continental breakfast, we try to have the freshest muffin, bagels, fruits and other items. Our prices are pretty much the same as the Ruby Inn. The other motels in Bridgeport don't have the same amenities - swimming pool, updated...

This place offered us an adequate room with a wonderful king bed. It was clean and the desk staff was pleasant. Fine for a short stay. Some of the rooms front along the Walker River and they might be a better choice for a longer stay.

Thank you for the nice review. Yes, the river rooms are nice for longer stays. And I guess Bridgeport is kind of in the boonies, but beautiful boonies 😀.

Once again, I wish we had a 7 point scale as the Walker River Lodge is "Good" - above "Average", but not quite "Very good". The lodge has a great location in the town and excellent proximity to the many sights including Bodie. The breakfast was surprisingly good - excellent coffee and bagels. There is a nice pool area. The...

Thank you for the review. On your next stay, try one of our river view rooms. They are nice and bright with a sliding glass door that opens onto a deck overlooking the Walker river!

We just stayed at the lodge this past week for an overnight on our way to June Lake; two adults and three children under the age of 6. We booked at the last minute AND were arriving late at night -- neither of which was a problem for the motel. The room accommodations were great and wow! the view we...

Room was a little bit small but furnished in a country rustic style (well appreciated!). Breakfast ok, but too little place for all guests. Anyway trays are provided to carry your breakfast to your room: wonderful idea! Negative: rooms are badly insolated. We heard the neighbour taking his shower early in the morning sounding as a rain of pebbles.
