there are three beautiful lakes here. that you could get to with your car two others that I know of that you can hike to.. big Virginia, little Virginia, and trumbull. Trumbull have some very nice campsite also some very small ones but this is my favorite Lake of the three. This is a great float tube fishing lake or fly fishing....

The resort seems to be a basic fish camp type of resort nothing special. The surrounding lakes on the other hand are beautiful and serene. The hike is very easy and doable despite the elevation which may scare some off, but go for it, really.

The apple pie here is amazing. Best you'll ever eat, however since they make it from scratch there daily, you need to get it early because they sell out. On the flip side, the server, whom I believe is a part owner, is extremely rude. She walked away from us in the middle of taking our order. It is very...

I came back again this past august and had the same great experience. This time my two sons and their girl friends joined us and they also loved VLR.John and Carolyn were the great hosts as usual and one of the girls had a birthday so we ordered a birthday pie for her and Carolyn baked it and it was absolutely...

VLR is located above Bridgeport, CA, at the 9820 foot elevation. The owners, John and Carolyn Webb, provide excellent service! The restaurant has a good selection of traditional resort food. The store portion has just about any fishing tackle you might need. We rented cabin #2 for a week. It was clean and comfortable. Limited electricity is provided by the...

The scenery was absolutely beautiful, between the lake, trees and stars. The cabins are rustic, if you are looking for fancy this isn't in. Its relaxing. There's a little restaurant with excellent food. The only downfall is you are not allowed to have a camp fire.

Cabins are neglected and could use a good upgrade and cleaning. You never know what to expect from the owners... sometimes nice and very helpfull and the next just plain annoyed and rude. We have been there twice in the last 5 years and will not be going back. We will be trying somewhere else. So sad because the natural...

We have been coming to VLR for 25 years. We always have a good time here. The host John and Carolyn have always very pleasant to us. We have even played golf with John in Mammoth. I understand there is a lot to maintain with all these cabins, but after 25 yrs in cabin #1 not much has changed except...

I am,astounded by the negative reviews of VLResort..Just read one by some hack from Bakersfield. .I have stayed here at least a dozen times and will be back in August. These are not suites at the Bellagio and are not run down. I just paid $ 110 for a crappy motel 6 room in the bay area and for a...

The woman was rude. She acted like she was doing us a favor by allowing us to walk into her store. I don't need that kind of silliness. I won't be back to this place. The cabins are pretty ran down also. They need some attention but I don't see it happening.
