This motel is so misrepresented by the photos on the website. This place is a smelly, filthy dump, with mold growing in the showers, bugs in the sink and unvacuumed floor, and a stovetop that looks like it hasn't seen a sponge in decades. It was difficult to find a blade of green grass anywhere. After getting shocked from the...

I paid $77 total but felt the value is more like $50. While the room was large and appeared clean, it smelled like Sour Cream&Onion potato chips. I guess if you're a big fan of those chips, you might like the smell, but I thought it was too odd. Speaking of strange, the man at the front desk looked like...

Spent five days. Had a great time. Is it the Ritz-Carelton, heck no (they won't take my dog). Is it quiet, Yep! Is it old, oh yeh!! Does it have rooms with full kitchens, Yep! Does it have a bunch of partying drunks falling in the pool at 3 am, Nope. Are the grounds nicely kept, Yep. Petunias in full...

Our room included a kitchenette, but we only used the fridge and microwave during our stay. Due to the brick and mortar construction and one-level design, the rooms were insulated from sound very well. The price for this hotel and others in Borrego Springs was very high for what you get, but that's probably because it's a captive market. The...

We were two couples wanting to visit the Anza Borrego area. We cose Stanlunds because of the price and location. We were not disapiointed. The rooms were clean, comfortable and quiet. The breakfast was adequate for all of us. About two miles from the state park was a perfect location. Restaurants and shopping were near by. The staff was courteous...

this is advertised as an "inn and suites" resort but it's actually just a motel, so don't expect anything fancy. the room was large, clean and comfortable but furnished with old furniture and the lighting was very dim. there was in-room coffee, a fridge and microwave so that was convenient. there is a computer in the lobby for guest use....

The owner and workers of the motel were very pleasant, the location was perfect, and the breakfast not so bad, but considering the quality-price ratio, it ´s the most expensive motel we have been so far!. The worst was the awfull maintenance of the rooms, there were even died roachs under the beds!!! Its a good place only if you are...

Stanlunds is a pleasant place, a throwback to the 50's. Nice staff and comfortable rooms.

Stanlunds is a basic motel with reasonable prices. It is perfectly located for exploring Anza Borrego Desert and (in Spring) viewing the wildflowers. Our unit (#2) was clean and everything was in working order including the free internet connection. While checking in, Mr. Patel (manager/owner) really lit up when he saw our dog. They hit it off very well. We...

Strayed one night, which was long enough to assess this as a perfectly adequate motel. The room had a distinct odour, but nothing a quick spray with the eau-de-toilette couldn't address. It was the very reasonable rate ($50) that convinced me to stay, but I wouldn't have paid much more. TV had a much better range of channels than I...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Stanlunds is situated in the heart of the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. It was built in the 50s and was remodeled in 2005. A very quiet and peaceful place. Good for people looking for peace and tranquility- but you can still be connected to the world with our wireless DSL available in all rooms. All of our rooms are equipped with a microwave, fridge, and coffeemaker. Some rooms have private patios & kitchens -some with ovens- and BBQs. This gives you all that is required for sitting back, relaxing, and enjoying the warm weather with beautiful views of the mountains. Free Continental breakfast on weekends during season. On special occasions we reserve the right to implement a two night minimum stay. ... more   less
