This may well be a very nice hotel but watch out for the fine print. I booked a couple of rooms here for my wife and parents thinking it would be a nice to hang out by the pool and get a nice meal in the restaurent for a quuick trip in August. Well, over the course of several phone...

Submitted for your approval....okay, maybe that's a bit unfair. But when you arrive at a hotel you sort of expect that someone - a desk clerk, a bellhop, a cook, a car park guy, a gardener, pool boy or chambermaid - might be there to meet you. Not at The Palms - at least, not if you arrive after hours!...

We have tried most of the hotels in Borrego but keep coming back to the Palms. The service is sometimes hit and miss and rooms have a rustic feel but the place oozes character and is in a great location. Rooms: As has been well documented, they are of vastly differing quality. In the Flower Season, the good ones book...

There are rooms that are by the pool which seemed nice and what I thought I was going to get. However there is another side to this hotel that they do not tell you about, rooms at the backside of the hotel, small windows, no screens, right above the kitchen exhaust and the back of the kitchen. The view is...

If you are looking for a quiet unique get-a-way experience in Borrego Springs, try this place out. It has a rich history, and has been creatively and lovingly refurbished to remind guests of its predecessor hotel dating back some 50 years. I felt as if the year was 1955, with the decor and architecture of the period. The bar off...

This 50's era hotel is a delight. The lobby is one of those places where you want to curl up with a good book, or put together a puzzle in the afternoon. If you want a Marriott, don't come here, but for a quaint place to visit it is perfect. The restaurant is a 2 for 1 type, combining the...

On our first vist we witnessed the following while went to the Crazy Coyote/Red Ocitillo Restaurant: * Three times we asked for a glass of water and were not successful * After a good salad we waited 45 minutes for the COLD entree to arrive *The owner (Blond, Female) blame incompetent staff at first *We sent our entrees back refusing...

Yes, it was a little quirky and inconsistent - I can understand why some of the other reviewers would not care for it. This is not the Ritz. But considering this is the middle of nowhere in Borrego Springs, California, I found this inn to be a little oasis of comfort and character. We had the deluxe queens room -...

Upon arrival my brother and I were almost turned away because they said they had no record of our reservation. Turns out someone botched our name (the name they had was nowhere even close to our actual name). The bedroom had no overhead light just a small reading lamp (barely able to even read under it). Beds were nice. Cable...

Hotel is hard to find..let me explain - there IS a large sign with hotel name but then during another 1/2mile or so down this dead-end the only sign says "Red Ocotillo" (restaurant, sign with arrow toward palm area, building obscurred), and a giant "EAT HERE" sign. Front desk employee basically and kind of snippily turned us away at check-in...
