Loved the small attention to detail. I believe the owners or managers live on the property and were there for all your questions answered and to accommodate to make the best of your stay which I appreciated. Loved that the manager was very thoughtful to type out a list of restaurants open for Thanksgiving as I was there during Thanksgiving...

This place is GREAT! Just off of the main highway so it is nice and quiet... no truck noise at 3 AM. Conveniently located near the village and shops, close to the lake boat rentals, areas to walk to either for restaurants or to get into nature. Nine cabins to choose from, from the refurbished original 1920 cabin to the...

Our family has talked about going to Big Bear and staying at Timber Haven Lodge for literally...years. I am positive that we'll be back there within a year as we all had a fabulous time! Mehrdad and Karen are the most gracious hosts you'll ever meet anywhere! We had cabin 9 (built in 1920s) and cabin 1 ~ totally unique...

This is a nice surprise, it has all your kitchen needs. The inside and outside are very well maintained and Karen is alway there to answer questions. Our bed was very comfortable, and T.V. works. Breakfast is continental, but all anyone needs to start day. Grill is available which we took advantage of, as did several others. Picnic tables thru...

We have visited Big Bear many, many times over the years and have stayed in different lodges and hotels but now when we visit Big Bear, we will only stay at the Timber Haven Lodge. The accommodations are very clean, the staff is very friendly and helpful (especially Karen) plus the movie rentals are the best. Thanks Karen, we WILL...

We found this lodge to be a home away from home. Everything we needed was available on the property, and the owners were welcoming, attentive, and helpful. The cabin was clean and bed in bedroom was comfy. Sofa bed was a little lumpy, but kids didn't complain. Breakfast was plentiful yet basic and consists mostly of packaged items, but once...

This is a small, privately-owned lodge with vintage Big Bear cabins. If you are looking for a corporate, cookie-cutter motel try somewhere else. If you like rustic Big Bear, this is the place to try. The owners, Mehrdad and Karen, are very personable and made us feel welcome immediately. The grounds are well-kept, the cabin exteriors cute. The smallest cabins...

I planned to go to big bear lake with my parents,my husband and my 2-month old, so I think cabin would be great to stay. I spent one day on internet to do the cabin research, after reading tons of reviews for almost 30 cabins, I decided to go with Timber Haven or the other one. I called both, but only...

This place has a lot of potential. Cottages are very cute from the outside, and location is great. The hot tub was great, and the owner is very nice and friendly. I am picky because I have stayed at many upscale places and expect a few simple things in return for my money: cleanliness, comfort, and good customer service. At...

My wife and I are newlyweds and we have stayed at the Timber Haven Lodge several times. We always enjoy our stay. The fireplace is very cozy and the jacuzzi tub is very romantic. The cabins are very clean and well maintained. We also love skiing at Big Bear but don't like the crowds downtown. This is also a great...

“Cabin I believe 7 - the log cabin is located right next to the parking lot. While you sleep you can hear car doors slamming shut all night long. Just wanted to point this out in case you're a light sleeper. Oh and the biggest tip is to bring your own fire logs!”

“Cabin 7 had more space, so it would be better for 4-6 people. It has been thoughtfully updated, while still keeping the feel of the 1920s log cabin. Great if you want to experience Big Bear the way it used to be. Also a bit closer to playground and spa.”
