My 1st stay at this location. I thought it to be a good choice. Wonderfull staff at check in. Very comfy room and same for the bed. Ok breakfasts not that bad but it all comes out of a bag. And a truly crappy shower head.
Just what you'd expect from a Springhill Suites in Bakersfield. No charm or glamour, but adequate. Room was quite large. The first night we stayed, we also used the sofa bed. A bag in the closet provided one flat sheet and a very thin blanket. Upholstery was worn and spotted. Free parking. Free wifi. Free buffet-style breakfast with the usual foods. I paid with a physical gift card that I'd had for a while. Often such payment causes problems with staff who have no idea how to use a gift card. Dakota zipped right through the process. Pleasantly surprised.
Stayed one night and had an ADA room on the first floor. The shower has bars on all sides which one can hold onto while bathing. Our room faces a parking lot, so one can park their car in front of your room or near your room. Our room, even though not in a suite, was comfortable, clean and very quiet. The only noise we heard was the room’s door slamming’ it got noisy when a guest allowed the door to close on its own. SpringHill was providing housing to kids and their minders who were participating in an athletic event occurring in Bakersfield. So, the breakfast room was very crowded, but the SpringHill staff fed the guest without the guest having to wait for food. The breakfast was buffet style with guests getting in line to serve themselves. The only problem was finding seating: guests could not share space with their companions. The SpringHill staff were problem solvers: our observation the staff resolved every issue that was brought to their attention. We left feeling rested and well fed. Springhill Suites has to come to mind when one is looking for a place to stay.…
The hotel is located in Bakersfield close to different malls and eating locations. We got a Panera close to this location. The room itself was not that great. The toilet paper holder in the bathroom was broken and placed on the bathroom countertop. In addition, there was a wasp nest near the window with a dead wasp on the carpet that was not cleaned. I was expecting more with the Marriot name on this hotel even though if it was a two and half star hotel.
I love staying at SpringHill Suites when I can. I love the way the suites are arranged. FYI Bakersfield is very Hot in the summer over 100 on must days, can be very warm at night too. Beware this Hotel has a AC sensor. It turns off when there is no movement in the room, example: when sleeping. We found this out the first night. It was miserable. Plus my husband has medical issues that made it worst! We mention it to the front desk, they were aware of it. (How about telling the guest when they check in) I am all for saving Energy, but this is unacceptable. We were due to stay there again 3 days later. The front desk assured us they would try to adjust when we returned. When returning we mentioned it again and was told they would reach out to contractor to adjust the AC so it would stay on during the night time hours. I left for the evening to return to AC that had not been adjusted. The Day crew had left for the day(of course). There was also a issue with the toilet overflowing that was not address either. GM "Mandy" was not available. So I emailed her, still waiting for response.(stayed 7/18 one night 7/22 one night.)…
Staff nice and helpful, but this place needs an update in decor. Problems getting shower faucet to stop dripping. Carpet old and strange layout of the room. Whoever thought the floor lamp with the shade that is so low was cool, needs to bang their head on it a few times like I did. Have stayed at several SpringHills- all were better than this...not up to Marriott brand standards.
Stayed 2 nights for work. Staff seems nice. Hotel seems to be showing its age as the shower/tub handle broke when I took my morning shower, and water could not be shut off. When I returned from work, it was fixed incorrectly as hot was cold and cold was hot. Bagged Breakfast with 2 choices, both not very healthy. One good thing is the printer in lobby worked and you can send print straight to the printer from your cell phone. It was not a great stay, but at least they refunded half the price.
I’ve stayed at many SpringHill Suites in my lifetime and unfortunately, this takes the cake at being my least favorite. We stayed here for a few hours en route to Zion National Park and a that was enough for me and my family. The room was exceptionally small, considering SpringHill Suites rooms are known for relatively spacious hotel rooms. The bathroom sink leaked the entire time we were there and it was eerie hearing water drops as we tried to get some shut-eye. The shower made a really loud squeal every time we used it and the water, as mentioned in other reviews of this hotel, was lukewarm. Location-wise, it’s convenient for freeway access; however, the surrounding area is a bit bleak and uninteresting. And unfortunately, during our entire stay, we didn’t see a single member of staff - not even at reception.…
Bakersfield was simply a stop along the way of our travels. Gratefully, it was clean, comfortable, and quiet. The breakfast was good. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We would gladly stay again.
Clean and well maintained room! Clean bathroom!!! Good service. Free wifi and a desk in the room to take care of business. Small kitchenette with refrigerator, microwave and sink. There was even disposable plates and silverware. Small living room couch. Overall a pleasant stay.
