When one arrives at a hotel they expect a clean place. When my husband and I arrived he was going to lay on the bed. We noticed that there were many hairs on the comforter and sheets. They obviously did not change the sheets. On the side by the television there is a small desk. The desk and chair had multiple stains. I was very disappointed. Another thing I must mention is that the young woman who checks people into their rooms was very rude. Worst hotel experience ever.
Do not stay here!!! For one they don’t clean the rooms if you are there for a long period of time and they don’t supply towels they want you to pay! They lied to me every time when I asked about the cleanings. 2 different workers told me I was due for one since I’ve been there so long, nobody ever showed up. They don’t clean the garbage as soon as you walk inside to go to your room from the parking lot it’s piles of garbage. Second they don’t give you back the deposit they hold on your card! Lastly the customer service for ever last worker is terrible!
Don't ever stay here, they do not enforce nose policy, they are very rude, locked out of the hotel several times, people stealing cars from the parking lot, charge you for towels, don't clean room during extended stay. Website says they are there from 8 am to 10 pm, but they aren't there until 9 am. There is trash EVERYWHERE from the hallways to the parking lot. If you're looking for a quiet place to stay this is not the hotel for you. Very poor insulation as you can hear the interstate and the truck repair shop. There is no coffee pot or cookware in the room if you want it you have to buy it from Wal-Mart. The room is basically a bed with some very questionable bedding.
I WAS a very loyal customer of WoodSpring. I have stayed there many times throughout the country and have always had pleasant experiences .This property in the mecca for the homeless, addicts and prostitutes. I asked last night to exchange my towels and linens ( 3 days into a week stay ) and I was told that there would be a fee of $3.50 to exchange them . As an alternative , I was told that I could wash them myself , also for $ 3.50. I blew it off , so this morning I found a gentleman , presumably in Management, and I was told very crudely and abruptly that it was fully explained to me upon Check In and I agreed to that . I assured him that this was not the case and he elevated his voice and told me to get away from his desk. I have never been treated so unprofessionally by anyone in my life. Pass up this place . I am sure this isn't over . Stay tuned.…
I was very dissatisfied with this hotel I left a review on yelp and my experience there would’ve been for like a month and a half but I stayed there in less than a week for almost a week and I was treated really badly they said they didn’t clean the rooms or take out the trash cans for weekly visits I couldn’t get fresh towels they wanted to charge me 350 for each towels and sheets and I was told when I ask for an extra blanket because my granddaughters anemic I was told that you people just want extra blankets or somebody could sleep on the floor so I write them a zero
Looks good from the outside. Smelly unkept lobby...locked door to enter hall to the elevator...felt like I was entering a prison. Elevator and hallway to the room was dirty and smelly. Room was clean with full sized fridge, bare bones, a small bar of soap, no shampoo or anything else. No water bottle and no drinking fountain anywhere..bed was comfortable, front staff friendly and helpful.
We saved by staying here. It was clean. The small kitchen was nice but we would have had to buy pots, pans, and utensils to use it. The reason it was so clean is greatly due to no carpeting. That is also the reason for a low rating. Upstairs people make a lot of noise rolling suitcases a cross the floor, shoes are loud and regular noise is a bit disturbing.
There’s even dirt on the floor. No coffee pot. No shampoo. Has a stove, refrigerator, etc. but no dishes or utensils. No phone to call front desk. No breakfast. No pool. Not much of anything. No customer service. AVOID!
We stayed here for one night as a stop-over while traveling from Joshua Tree National Park towards Yosemite National Park end of June 2019. Basically Bakersfield is a city that -as a tourist- has nothing to offer but many, many low priced hotels/motels (with really bad reviews) and the general infrastructure of a city. So in the end, when we were still planning and booking our trip, we decided for the WoodSpring Suites and pay a bit more than some other hotels/motels around would have cost after reading and comparing reviews. Still it was quite cheap compared to other hotels we had on our trip. We arrived on a late and hot afternoon and had no problems finding a parking space for our car. The check-in was ok and friendly but not as friendly as we had it at other hotels. But this is no big deal and won't affect my rating. The hotel itself is big, also the rooms and quite modern as it has a business touch. I like that, nice one. The room and bathroom were very clean, nothing to complain about. Also the WiFi was working at a good speed. On many other reviews we read about some "clinical" smell. We didn't have that and had no problems during our stay. We really liked the laundry room located at the ground floor with many washing machines and dryers. Perfect if you are at the half of a three week trip. But there were some other minor things that bring this rating from a 4 down to 3 points: - There is a microwave, fridge, kitchen stove - but absolutely no pan, pot, plates, cuttlery or something. So, whats the point? It makes no sense to put in a kitchen if there is nothing you can use to prepare your meal. - No hair dryer. Not a big deal for some, but still for others. - Only one big towel per person. Normally you'll get one big and one normal-sized towel per person. Also not a big thing, but in the end several little things sum up. - No soap, shampoo etc. Be sure to bring your own stuff. - No safe. At least we didn't see one. But to be honest I couldn't tell if there would have been any at the reception - Loud A/C. The air condition was quite loud. So as it was still quite warm in the room due to the outside temperature we had to turn it off to get sleep. - Night table and light only on one side So, all in all our one night stay was ok, but if I'll ever have to stay in Bakersfield again I would look for alternatives and keep this hotel in mind as plan B.…
Where can you stay in this area in a hotel that is super clean, brand spanking new, with friendly staff and safe, double-lock access entry? There's no coffee-maker in the room, but the nearby Denny's apparently offers a 15% discount when you show your key card. There's also plenty of brand new washers and dryers to do your laundry on the road. Cable TV, comfortable new bed - for $50-ish bucks. Are you kidding me? I have no complaints and I am grateful for the savings, while nearby hotels are upwards and well over $100/night.
