We saved by staying here. It was clean. The small kitchen was nice but we would have had to buy pots, pans, and utensils to use it. The reason it was so clean is greatly due to no carpeting. That is also the reason for a low rating. Upstairs people make a lot of noise rolling suitcases a cross the floor, shoes are loud and regular noise is a bit disturbing.

Clean, comfy, spacious, full refrigerator, microwave, plus 2 stove top burners. Charge for WiFi; adequate (not very fast, but passable). No in room or lobby coffee. Free on site parking. Great price. Convenient to 3 major highways: 58. 184 & 99. Good for overnight stay.

We stayed here for one night as a stop-over while traveling from Joshua Tree National Park towards Yosemite National Park end of June 2019.

Basically Bakersfield is a city that -as a tourist- has nothing to offer but many, many low priced hotels/motels (with really bad reviews) and the general infrastructure of a city.
So in the end, when we were still planning and booking our trip, we decided for the WoodSpring Suites and pay a bit more than some other hotels/motels around would have cost after reading and comparing reviews. Still it was quite cheap compared to other hotels we had on our trip.

We arrived on a late and hot afternoon and had no problems finding a parking space for our car.
The check-in was ok and friendly but not as friendly as we had it at other hotels. But this is no big deal and won't affect my rating.

The hotel itself is big, also the rooms and quite modern as it has a business touch. I like that, nice one.
The room and bathroom were very clean, nothing to complain about. Also the WiFi was working at a good speed.
On many other reviews we read about some "clinical" smell. We didn't have that and had no problems during our stay.
We really liked the laundry room located at the ground floor with many washing machines and dryers. Perfect if you are at the half of a three week trip.

But there were some other minor things that bring this rating from a 4 down to 3 points:
- There is a microwave, fridge, kitchen stove - but absolutely no pan, pot, plates, cuttlery or something. So, whats the point? It makes no sense to put in a kitchen if there is nothing you can use to prepare your meal.
- No hair dryer. Not a big deal for some, but still for others.
- Only one big towel per person. Normally you'll get one big and one normal-sized towel per person. Also not a big thing, but in the end several little things sum up.
- No soap, shampoo etc. Be sure to bring your own stuff.
- No safe. At least we didn't see one. But to be honest I couldn't tell if there would have been any at the reception
- Loud A/C. The air condition was quite loud. So as it was still quite warm in the room due to the outside temperature we had to turn it off to get sleep.
- Night table and light only on one side

So, all in all our one night stay was ok, but if I'll ever have to stay in Bakersfield again I would look for alternatives and keep this hotel in mind as plan B.

Do not stay here!!! For one they don’t clean the rooms if you are there for a long period of time and they don’t supply towels they want you to pay! They lied to me every time when I asked about the cleanings. 2 different workers told me I was due for one since I’ve been there so long, nobody ever showed up. They don’t clean the garbage as soon as you walk inside to go to your room from the parking lot it’s piles of garbage. Second they don’t give you back the deposit they hold on your card! Lastly the customer service for ever last worker is terrible!

The hotel itself looks decent but they DONT provide enough towels and you get one rag… I won’t use my body rag on my face sorry!! If you ask for more rags or towels they want you to bring your current towels… no blow dryer… no ice machines… terrible shower… don’t even provide decent “complimentary body wash / shampoo”. The beds aren’t comfortable pillows are lumpy would suggest the Holiday inn Express on 7th Standard over this hotel.

When one arrives at a hotel they expect a clean place. When my husband and I arrived he was going to lay on the bed. We noticed that there were many hairs on the comforter and sheets. They obviously did not change the sheets. On the side by the television there is a small desk. The desk and chair had multiple stains. I was very disappointed. Another thing I must mention is that the young woman who checks people into their rooms was very rude. Worst hotel experience ever.

No blackout curtains, very bright in the room, it was also noisy. I couldn't get any sleep, so I left at 4am. The sink in the bathroom was clogged. They charged me $50 dollars fee for my dog, and I only stayed one night. I left my gold butterfly ring on the table, when I came back to the room, the ring was gone. That's summarizes my stay.

Absolutely the best hotel I’ve stayed at in many years. Great accommodations, great staff, great location, couldn’t be better. Considering the reason for visiting Bakersfield, the death of my older brother, the staff were very accommodating to me and another brother and his wife.

Looks good from the outside. Smelly unkept lobby...locked door to enter hall to the elevator...felt like I was entering a prison. Elevator and hallway to the room was dirty and smelly. Room was clean with full sized fridge, bare bones, a small bar of soap, no shampoo or anything else. No water bottle and no drinking fountain anywhere..bed was comfortable, front staff friendly and helpful.
