the hotel was absolutely amazing! the service, room, and attention to detail were superb! everyone was super friendly! the food was also great different variety of things, which was awesome... I would totally recommend it!!! the characters were easy to spot. The water park was the best for the kids! they knew it was my son's bday, so they even did a little gift surprise arrival, and they sang happy birthday to him in the restaurants, which was a super nice touch. the character breakfast was very nice and so well worth it 👌 my son enjoyed his 7th birthday to the fullest! and we appreciate everyone who went out their way to make it extra! especially Galatico, Brito, Felix, Brandon, uncle J, Jesus, and a few others. we forgot names because there were so many! again, thank you for the service and for making this trip unforgettable for my son and I. we will be going back!!!

We took our 3- and 5-year-old to this resort. It was our first family vacation, and the bar has been set exceptionally high. Our butler Henry Matos went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed to make the days run smoothly. Henry arranged our beach and water park beds in advance so there was no scramble to get set up with towels, or sand toys. He introduced to our servers and ensured we had everything we needed before carrying on with his work. Henry made sure that we had a table at all the major events, orange carpet, beach table, etc. The resort is made to entertain children, there is a multitude of activities for all ages. The space is big enough to explore but not so big that you feel overwhelmed with small children. Our room had everything you needed. We would recommend this resort for people with young children. Staff were friendly and helpful; meals were interactive, and the kids had a variety of food to choose from.

Terrible service all the way around. Definitely not 3 stars and certainly not worth the 5 star price! The room was dirty and not prepared when we arrived. We had to wait 2 hours and we arrived at 5pm. The phone and safe didn’t work.There was no soap or wash clothes. There were no teaspoons in the restaurant only tablespoons?? Really??No one came to fix anything and we were there for 5 days! We’ve stayed at several hotels all around the island and this was the worst customer service ever!!!! The only thing that was good was the excitement of the kids when they finally saw Sponge Bob and all of the characters at the show on Saturday. Everything was over priced. $100 USD fir a kid’s swim suit, absolutely outrageous!!!! The straw that broke the camel’s back was when we arranged for a bellhop to pick us up on the last day and he never came. As we carried several suitcases across the property, no one Not One Person offered to help us!!! The manager should be fired!

The Nickelodeon resort in Punta Cana isn’t the worst place I have stayed, but it’s far off from the best. If this trip cost half of what it actually did, then we would’ve been much happier with the experience, but we felt deflated, let down, and disappointed at almost every turn. Do not pick this place specifically because you’re traveling with kids, there is no point unless it’s worth it to see character briefly each day. The best part of this resort is the water park for the kids. But that only takes you so far, here are some of the negatives that we experienced: 1- the water park is a full 10 minute walk from the resort, and there is a whopping ONE golf cart going back and forth. This should be at least 3 as it’s insistently full, and takes forever. 2- toilets, these are supposed to flush. Right? Not at this resort, I’ll say things would flush, be shredded, then reappear, and leave it at that. Horrible toilets in all of our rooms. 3- beds are hard, perfect if you enjoy sleeping on plywood or concrete. 4- pools not heated, no hot tubs. 5- the entire resort is just tired looking, rust everywhere, broken tiles, dirty areas, just not 4 or 5 star level at all. 6- the light switches in the room do not make any sense, 7 days and I was still guess what would turn things on or off (and why do the lights flicker so much, and why was our couch broken)? 7- the food…let’s just say it left a lot to be desired, lots of room for improvements. Plus, at literally every meal I ordered something and they said, “oh we don’t have that today.” Common things, like shrimp and cheeseburgers! Crazy. 8- oh, and food safety. At the bars they don’t have any sanitizer in the sanitizer wash bins (3-bin sink). And who knows about how much soap they use. When I saw the bartenders “wash” glasses, it was the “rinse under the faucet with water you’re not allowed to drink, rub with hand until “clean” then fill up guest drink” method. 9- they didn’t have the room we booked when we got there, my mother and mother in law ended up sharing a King bed room and sofa bed, not the 2-queens we paid for. No compensation was offered for this, we were just told it was an upgrade. When it wasn’t, because you know…they both wanted real beds. Now. Let’s talk about how kid friendly this youth focused, kid centric resort was for my 4 & 7 year old. Here are the issues we experienced on this front: 1- first off, $42 for a 6”x6” sponge bob plush, really? I expect to over pay at a resort, but that’s robbery. 2- no kids menu offered at restaurants when seated, had to ask every time. And it was the same exact 5 options, every time, every restaurant. 3- no kid activities at restaurants. No coloring, no little games, no special interaction with the kids other than at the character breakfast ($40/person extra)! 4- no kid friendly cups, they get to drink out of the same lidless, heavy glass cups as adults. and when you beg for a straw, they take 10 minutes to arrive. Minimum. 5- The entire pool deck is a dark, hot, extremely slippery artificial wood. Also not ideal for kids (ours fell every day multiple times) 6- finally, maybe put a stool in the rooms? my kids couldn’t reach the faucet, or get their hands into the sink to wash, brush teeth, etc without being picked up. The vanities are really tall. So all in all, our 7 days was a bit of a letdown. We won’t be heading back. Ever. I mentioned these things to Karisma resorts. They said, “that’s a shame.” Stay somewhere else in Punta Cana.

Staff Shoutouts: Henry (Butler), Roseayrs (server), Francisco (server), Jose (bartender), Ryan (Beach Butler), Isomar (server), Ramon (Aqua Nick), Wander (Server), Junior (Server), Juan (Manager) We came for a week in January with my in-laws in adjoining rooms as Prestige Members and had a wonderful stay. The staff were fantastic, the grounds immaculate, the beach lovely and the food, for the most part was good. We've been to a number of Karisma resorts and this has to be up there in terms of overall enjoyment. Lots of food options, even a coffee place that seems to never close that has a great assortment of light snacks for both adults and kids. Even though it's focused on kids, they have a number of adult themed areas including a sportsbar that's open until 3am. The beach is MUCH nicer than any of the Karisma resorts in Mexico. The water is a bit rough with an undertow, but there is no seaweed and it feels like a true Caribbean beach. We stayed in a Swank Swim Up in Building 2. The outdoor patio area was long with way too much furniture, The actual room was small compared to the other rooms we've stayed at in Karisma resorts and not particularly well laid out. The cabinets and drawers are at the front of the room as well which makes it challenging to get dressed when the kids are sleeping in the pullout in the living area as the bedroom is at the back. The bathroom however is huge with a great rain shower. Room service menu was a bit limited compared to other resorts, but it did come faster than other places we've been do. One note to the resort: if the staff ask for food sensitivities at the very beginning of our stay and then when we're seated at every restaurant, we shouldn't have to relay the same information again to the service staff, which happened almost every night. Would be nice if everyone chatted with each other to avoid this situation. Also, in terms of other Karisma resorts, the gluten free options were lacking. In most places you had to specifically ask and even then it was a bit hit and miss. Overall, it was our first trip to the DR and found the staff friendlier overall than in Mexico. I know we're paying money to be there so it's there job to be happy, but we genuinely felt a warmth from almost all the staff that did not appear to be put on. Finally, we can not express enough how wonderful the service was, in particular, Henry, who was our personal butler. He was professional, courteous, funny, personable and responded to anything we needed lightening quick. When we asked to have ice in our room at the same time every day we never needed to worry. When we asked for dinner reservations they were made and were ready when we needed them. It was my daughter's birthday during the stay and Henry went above and beyond by putting a banner up and bringing sweets to our room along with a bottle of sparkling for us to celebrate. These were just a few of the things were we went above and beyond. He truly was amazing and I hope he gets recognized for all of this work. We would definitely come back, but most likely in one of the rooms facing the ocean on a higher floor.

It is a resort that you really want to love but you just cannot. The layout: I hated it. Walking back and forth from the restaurants to the room near the pool was not interesting since you cannot see the beach and all you see is buildings. The beach: Amazing. Best waves ever for body surfing. Gorgeous beach. The pool: large and nice. One was under repair. Otherwise, no complaints. The activities: nonexistent. Shows at night for kids during our dinner so we missed a lot. The food: mediocre. The gym: small but functional. The service: so so. Hit and miss. We were clearly the minority since 99% were local visitors. The nick place: fun lazy river. Kids enjoyed it. Slippery. I am glad I don't have to go again. Overall: Despite staying with members and having more stuff than most people, I found Nickelodeon to be below average and we will never return. Maybe our expectations were too high. Maybe the rain ruined it all. Maybe the place is falling apart and needs renovations. Maybe they are short of staff and in financial problems. Something was clearly off and for the price, I would go to Mexico. The beach though....that was memorable. Only the last day we saw a lot of seaweed like a totally different beach. So even that advantage was taken away!

For the price and brand name, we had expected this resort to be something amazing (compared to others we visited)! We have three kids (11, 6, 4) and they were so excited to experience it. In the end, while they had the character photo ops, there was nothing too special that set it apart from other resorts. Some thoughts: -on the negatives: -Personally I found the food not varied enough as I am a vegetarian and their salad bar needs more variety. -While kids enjoyed themselves, there was not much to do for adults. Also, our older son (11) didn’t have much to do as the kids club was for younger kids. Water park was for kids only, aside for the lazy river and pool area. - We invested in a swim up room; felt like a waste of our money as we couldn’t use the pool given it was too cold. Unfortunately none of the staff seemed to care and no accommodations were made for this. -a big negative: we went just before the holidays and it became busier over the week when things got closer to the holiday break. Seems like they were not set up for the “busy season” as they continuously ran out of plates and glasses in the buffet! -not much of a beach, lots of seaweed everywhere *some positives: -rooms are clean and nice, though tight with kids -staff is generally friendly -lots of pool areas -younger kids liked the kids club and staff -when the water park was open it was fun for the kids -some fun kids night entertainment and nightly popcorn -dopio coffee shop with treats and milk shakes and good coffee (!) was fantastic! We particularly appreciated John’s great service!

Amazing hotel great staff and so much for the kids to do! We were a family of 4 with 4year old twins and the resort was perfect for us! The food was fabulous, the waterpark great and the beach was beautiful also (a little seaweed but not much at all). We had great service on the beach cabanas and love the pool with the morning actives - cute little peddle boats, paddle boards etc. drinks were good too and always easy to get. Food at all locations was great - we enjoyed having breakfast at the Lighthouse when it was open and we liked the Asian restaurant plus the buffet. We didn’t have a swim up room but they looked good too. The ladies in the kids club were amazing - particularly Daicy - she was so kind and really made the kids time at kids club enjoyable (plus the rest of the team!). The beach party on Fridays is good and the orange party is great too but don’t get caught face painting before you get a table as it may be too late (like we did!) We didn’t use the personal butler as didn’t need to! We booked interstellar restaurant but would have rather gone to one of the other restaurants - nothing special! I loved the fact you didn’t have to book any of the other restaurants too just easy to walk in. The nick entertainment team do a fab job too. Great hotel, we would definitely return however I think once the kids get passed 6/7 it might have outgrown them.

We were at the hotel with my family and my niece. Since the check-in they offered us an excellent service, they were super friendly. The room they gave us was beautiful, building 8 I loved it. The food is very varied, the buffets on the beach are excellent. On the day of the wise men, they gave a lot of toys to the children. The activity of the night was very varied and fun. I have to mention Michell from the buffet of the faro restaurant, José Manuel and Daniel from the bar in front of building 8, the reception staff is very friendly, the entertainment guys are very dedicated to the children. We are going to return for Easter.

The hotel has great amenities! However, when it comes to customer service, it was terrible. I don’t know if we came during the so called “high season” or if they have an employees shortage, but basic utensils (forks and knives) are not even available, and when requested to employees, the would turn their backs on you. Complimentary birthday experience came out short (1 out of the 3 things promised were delivered). Room mini bar was not refilled… and the worst: when complained to customer service they didn’t resolve the issues or apologized. I’m sure a great “apology” will come after this comment, when you are already away from the premises. Next time I will be spending my money elsewhere.
